Can we please do a bit more about this extremely persistent troll?
There are several active threads in IMHO and MPSIMS started or bumped by the same troll under different identities, all about their relationship woes and how their new boyfriend/girlfriend is unfairly breaking their heart, and there have been over a dozen in the last month or so.
It’s obviously the same person with the same MO who keeps posting over and over again, only to drop the thread after a while to start a new one under a new identity.
It’s highly annoying and it’s also annoying to see so many posters stumble all over themselves to counsel and support the pathetic troll’s latest identity.
I could link to several of these threads, but what would be the point? The troll would just start new ones. Can you all level up a bit in trollspotting? Because these latest ones are pretty sad. If you see a poster with a join date of this month post a rambling tale of woe about their horrible relationship or lifestyle troubles, can you stop a moment and think about how likely it is that this one, unlike the last 27, is a real person?
I hope it’s a troll, honestly. I’ve been through a situation with someone where they keep telling slightly different stories about events in their relationship in the hopes that that the audience will tell them what they want to hear about it. It didn’t end well.
Of course this troll is a troll, because it isn’t just one thread, it’s a dozen, all started as their first post by brand new posters, all about relationship woes or shitty behavior. And the quality has gone down substantially. The morbidly obese character who freaked out when their three year old niece tried to take a piece of their broccoli? Comedy gold, Jerry. The boyfriend who screams at you for being an alcoholic because you got drunk one time? Lame.
Look, I know it’s a lot of work crafting these troll threads, and not every single one can be a thing of beauty. But if its too much work to bother to create a decent one, then why do it at all? Either compose a decent troll post or STFU.

Heh personally that multi page rambling screed about their uncouth nephews with hair too short to be presentable was pretty good, assuming it was fake.
Why not just ignore the offending posts? Don’t let others control you, take control and be proactive by recognizing a troll post and moving beyond it. If others with to feed the troll that is their prerogative and nothing will change that. It is a free public forum after all.
On many message boards individual guests can limit whose posts they see. Think someone is only here for attention? One click and all their posts are now blocked for that user. It really seems like they only way to end trolling is to give us the resources to stop feeding them.
You know it could be a whole new form of trolling. It could be Cecil himself trolling his own boards. To distract his ever diminishing audience from noticing the dropping membership, or increasing lack of interesting daily traffic. So, when things get frightfully dull, they interject some stupid thread with a made up OP who never makes a second post, but hits everybody’s buttons and, most importantly, increases traffic and presents the appearance of on going new blood and / or new dilemma.
That’s right, it’s conspiracy theory time! let’s see what you got!
