Community - that little rascal of a show that never listens to authority (new show runners, take backs - old show runner, cancelled, no Yahoo!) is back for its sixth season (and a movie). The big news is that it isn’t on NBC anymore but available for free from Yahoo!! Screen.
I went to Yahoo!!! to watch and revel in its sameness/difference but unfortunately I was met with a swirling purple circle as it failed to load. Maybe in a few days after the servers are not overloaded I’ll be able to watch it myself. Oh well. If anybody’s had a chance to watch it, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Well, I gave that a shot, but even the adverts were stuttering - there was definitely some Community in there, but it was such a bad stream that I wandered off and by the time I came back it was done. Between the constant buffering and the very many ads, how much actual episode was there? It seemed like about ten minutes…
I laughed as well, but yeah, not nearly as good as it once was. Though having to constantly reintroduce people in the show is destined to make it choppy.
I was kinda skeptical, but really enjoyed the two new episodes. I’m not sure the show even has a premise anymore, but it was funny anyways. Plus just hearing Keith David’s voice makes me kind of happy.
Yahoo’s definitely not doing themselves any favors with their streaming service though. You’d think a 40 billion dollar company could get Internet streaming to work.
I ended up torrenting the episodes (in my defense, I ended up watching the intro ad like five times trying to get the show to load, so Yahoo still got their ad-views).
I watched the beginning of the first ep, then the 8 or so commercials after, then I got the same streaming problems others have mentioned and wasn’t able to watch it. I’ll try again when I get the chance. I did like the bit with the Frisbees and Leonard.
Does anyone know it Yahoo has an app that can be installed on Blu-ray players or anything? I wonder if that would help with the streaming issues.
I watched the first 2 eps last night. The first played fine the second had some buffering issues. No commercials which surprised me. The 1st ep was funny the second not so much though it was the Britta story that lacked humor.
I was mildly disappointed. It wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t great. I think losing Shirley was just one too many, but I nearly cried at her cameo, I was so happy to see her.
Commercials? I watched both episodes and neither had a single commercial.
No adblocking either, I was watching on a Roku, so I had no way of adblocking.
Sound was kinda off, though, like the background music was mixed too high relative to the dialogue and the whole thing slightly like in a tin can or tunnel or something. Well, not that bad, but that’s the only way I can describe it, like a very very mild version of that.
PS-I want to watch Portuguese Gremlins so bad now.
