Going APE. Alt Press Expo in San Francisco, April 8-9. Anyone for mini-dope fest?

Recently I got together with **SkipMagic ** and the dopers in Phoenix:

We had a blast and now since I’m headed to the SF bay area I wonder if any dopers there would like to get together.

Next week I’m headed to the Bay Area to visit family, old coworkers and to attend the Alternative Press Expo:

APE Front Page

APE, the Alternative Press Expo, storms back into San Francisco the weekend of April 8 and 9 for two big days filled with the best comics anywhere! The Concourse at 620 7th Street is the site where hundreds of artists and publishers will converge for the largest gathering of alternative and self-published comics in the country. This year, APE features extended hours, with Saturday opening at 11:00AM and closing at 7:00PM adding 2 big hours to that day. Sunday starts off at 11:00AM also but adds an extra hour with a closing time at 6:00PM.

Black Olive
Alex Robinson
Raina Telgemeier
C. Tyler

No DC or Marvel here, mostly what it is interesting is the featured panels on graphic novels, web comics, how to pitch your comic to publishers, etc, great demos on new materials to help you make your art, and lots of artists selling and showing their latest comics and projects.

Does anyone want to get together close to The Concourse at a restaurant and get together at noon for lunch or at 6:00 for dinner either on Saturday/8 or Sunday/9?

No BAD’s from the weekend had a chance it seems, so lets see the weekday ones.

Maybe I should have mentioned that one time Matt Groening came and made a sketch of Homer to one of my relatives…

Oh well, in any case we don’t need to do it next to the place, any ideas for a place to meet around the bay area?

I’ve thought about going to the APE, but didn’t realize it was coming so soon. Don’t know if I’ll be free this weekend yet, but when I’ve got a better idea about my work schedule, I’ll post here again.

Miller: I’m going to be around UC Berkeley too, if more dopers thing is more convenient we can meet close by, and just in case anyone is around there, I’m also headed to Modesto.
