The best food in the world ever ever ever?

I have it narrowed down to five:

[ul]
[li]Bacon[/li][li]Otoro[/li][li]Haagen Dazs Vanilla[/li][li]McDonald’s french fries[/li][li]Flan[/li][/ul]

None of the above. It’s home made bread, warm out of the oven, with real butter on it.

Blue Cheese.

English Cheddar Cheese.

Aged Parmesan Cheese.

That was actually on an earlier iteration of this list; it just got bumped down a notch when I had otoro the other night and dee eye ee died.

Sorry, you missed it. Spaghetti is nature’s perfect food. There’s enough sauces and variations for preparation to have it every night.

One word: OREOS.

The little brown cookies with chocolate on top that come in our holiday basket every year. Fresh they taste like Crisco on chalk. Let them get stale for six weeks, then dip them in coffee and you have the food of the gods.

A big, ripe, juicy mango is hard to beat.

Fresh-squeezed (as in straight from the fruit, not the bottle) orange juice.

A good tiramisu.

A proper New York pizza, with just marinara sauce and fresh mozzarella (fuck that greasy, deep-dish Chicago crap)

Oh, and Candy Letters. Sweet, sugary deliciousness. I just wish i could find them in the US.

If I could have a 3 egg omelet made with Swiss Cheese, side order of toasted English Muffins with butter, every day for the rest of my life, I could die happy. Wait, I WOULD die happy!

I’ll vote for pasta, too. There are enough sauces and preparations for every night of the year. Plus dessert! (orzo fruit salad - whipped cream, pineapple, maraschino cherries, etc.)

Chocolate

If someone made a bacon-flavored Cadbury’s cream egg with thai curry sauce, pressed on a panini grill, and dipped in tomato soup, I’d be all over that.

I just threw up in my mouth a little. No, wait, I just threw up on my keyboard a lot.

When I’m homesick for Texas; chicken-fried steak (real steak, not hamburger). It’s not ‘right’ without cream gravy, and mashed potatoes with the skins on.

A nice big chunk of raw Bluefin Tuna.

Uni
Fresh ripe pineapple
Ripe cherries from our local orchards in early June
Small fresh-shucked oysters
Stinky ripe camembert
Foie gras
Artichokes from Castroville
Perfectly smoked Kansas City-style dry-rub pork ribs

Oh I forgot about Ankimo. Which is Monkfish liver.

Steak. A big, honkin’ ribeye, grilled outdoors, seasoned with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce and garlic. Medium-rare (more toward the rare side) but nicely charred on the outside. And preferably bone-in–the gnawing of the last bits of meat off the bone is an essential part of the steak experience.

And no baked potato on the side. Instead, a nice pile of linguine with garlic and oil.

Green beans, sauteed with garlic and butter.

I may die before my time, but I’m sure as shit gonna enjoy myself while I’m here!

I don’t think there’s any single best food.

As far as favorites:
Cheesecake
Pocket coffee
Lamb chops
Rumaki
Shrimp Scampi
A really good steak
Anything Ethiopian

Also, I never met a chocolate I didn’t like…

What, you mean like a sirloin? Dredged in flour and then pan fried? That just seems wrong somehow.

You bunch of sillies!!

Bacon (DUH - Bacon makes everything - well - baconier.)
Well cooked rare porterhouse steak
Biscuits and Gravy
Twice Baked Potato
Kraft Deluxe Macaroni and Cheese
Almost forgot - Real Good Sweet Corn on the cob slathered in butter
