Ever since my teenage years, I’ve had this unusual love for rice. Wild, brown, pilaf, mexican, and even just plain ol’ steamed. If I ate rice every night for dinner for 3 weeks (as a side - not the main dish, of course), I would still look forward to having it the following day.
Apart from rice, I’d say hummus. I absolutely love the stuff. I could probably finish off an entire container of Roasted Red Pepper Hummus every day and never grow tired of it. Yum.
And apples, I guess. Galla and fuji are my favorite varieties, though I do have the occasion problem with the size of the latter type; some of them are just too big to eat in one sitting.
Oh! And pickles. Any kind, sweet or sour. Sooo delicious. I’ll eat them by themselves, provided that no one’s around to give me odd looks about it. Apparently pickles are considered more of a condiment by my friends/family.
I’m glad I started this thread - crazy loves company.
I’m going to add another food to my list - taquitos. If heaven were a food, this is what it would be. (berff’s mention of taco salad reminded me of this.)

Corn beef and hash from a can reminds me dog food.
I circumcise the top with my levered geared disk blade.
Then shake the gelled column into a ceramic bowl
mashing the mix into the basin with a stainless steal fork.
Covering the rim with a corning ware plate
I microware the meat for 5 minutes.
Potato chips (I hate to admit it, but I’ve eaten entire bags without even thinking or noticing)
Cheese of any kind
Genoa salami
Chopped liver
Strawberries
Pineapple
Avocados and/or guacamole
Anything with barbecue sauce or balsamic vinegar on it
Feijoas. The house I grew up in had a huge feijoa tree out the back, so we always had a huge supply handy during feijoa season. As soon as we collected the first ripe load of the season, Mum would always try to encourage me to eat them, reminding me that I love them. I would always be a bit ambivalent – I mean, they are fruit and not chocolate – and I’d pick the least blemished-looking one to eat. But as soon as that one was down, I’d lose all my inhibitions and start scoffing them like a psycho, regardless of skin condition. They’d damned addictive!
I’m curious now: how popular/well-known are feijoas outside of New Zealand? Googling for ‘feijoa’ seems to bring up a disproportionate number of ‘.nz’ sites, and searching on the Dope results in just one hit, where it is mentioned as a possible Scrabble word. Firefox’s spelling checker doesn’t recognise it either.
Really good sourdough bread, warm, with a little bit too much soft butter.
Mbossa: I have never heard of “feijoas”, but Wiki sez: “Feijoa (Feijoa sellowiana, synonym Acca sellowiana), also known as Pineapple Guava or Guavasteen,…”
