Hmmm, my last name begins with J and I have 4 kids and 2 grandkids.
Aw Apes, hope you guys make up quick.
Tao plain white rice and canned pumpkin will soothe Mousie’s tummy and stop the poopies. (NOT pumpkin pie filling, just plain canned pumpkin.)
My ex-boyfriend just emailed me, he wants to talk. I was just getting used to not hearing from him, and I really don’t want to talk to him, but I probably will. sigh
In other news, tacos for dinner tonight. I haven’t felt well today, so I may just have some toast and tea.
I got up, watched football at the Bistro. Gordie has had his bath(Einstein tried to drink his bathwater). Now I’m chilling, and chatting with Hockey Lady.

Still at irk. Stuff blowed up real good today. Wreckage strewn across several states. Film at eleven.
I’m thinking, since I got paid last week (for the first time in nine months), it may be time for an indulgence. I could perhaps buy an alcoholic beverage, or perhaps some food I don’t need to eat.
what? it’s still Sunday night, here. and the wind just started to pick up. During a nap, I dreamed a small plane took off in the storm and was forced to land in my yard. (There is an airport for privates and charters about a mile from my house) Almost immediately, my yard was flooded with military rescue crews. I have no idea what that all means.
Tao he sounds cute, except for eating what he shouldn’t.
We have a couple of ‘get loose’ dogs in the hood now. I worry though because two of them are tiny, and we have a hawk flying around. Usually kids are chasing them down, but a woman in her robe was out today.
Apes doesn’t he know better than to argue with a pregnant women?
Yep, still have both in the fridge from earlier this week, since he got snipped on Tuesday. And he was back to his normal, dorky, running around self by Thursday.
Oddly enough, he will not touch the pumpkin, no matter what! It’s weird.
Cat poop: Yum!
Dead sticks: Yum!
Live plants: Yum!
Rocks: Yum!
Pumpkin? WTF MOM ARE YOU TRYING TO POISON ME?!?!
It’s the one food he has absolutely refused to touch, lol. I suspect he only liked the rice I made him because I boiled it with plain hamburger, but we’ll see. Rice for breakfast, I’m thinking
Yay, Apes!
And I’ll try REAL hard to make Sandy go home. Nobody needs her stormy attitude right now.
6J is the chupinazo for Sanfermines (when the fireworks announcing their start are shot). It’s the day before the last step in the Sanfermines ladder (1-january, 2-february…). It’s when the visit of City Hall to the chapel of the Saint takes place, or tries to, as it is traditional to try to slow them down as much as possible - this event is popularly known as “Riau-riau” and this is also the name usually given to a waltz-jota that Astráin composed c. 1915 - its official name is, very creatively, “Astráin’s waltz-jota”. Most people, when they hear “waltz”, say Strauss or Blue Danube: if you’re from Pamplona and don’t answer Astráin’s, we take away your official Pamplona card. Oh, and 6j is also the 6th step in the Sanfermines ladder, but we write it 6j rather than 6J because the one in July is the important one.
It’s 4:24 in France. This hotel has very bad heating/cooling and extremely, uh, extreme bedding: we wake up drenched in sweat. Several of us are having to shower twice: in the middle of the night and before breakfast. Then we switch sides of the bed. One of my coworkers says he just towels down when he wakes up drenched, another one doesn’t wake up at all (we glare at him a lot when he says he doesn’t see what our problem is).
Yay, great start (and early too!) for the MMP, SpecialOne.
Sorry that I’ve been nearly incommunicado lately - I’ve had a bad cold and have just been taking it easy and resting when I can. I have been trying some home remedies this time, and found one that might sound a bit gross but it’s really not as bad as it sounds: 1 tbs. honey and 1 tbs. apple cider vinegar in a cup of warm water, and you sip it, while it’s still warm. I’ve also been drinking tea with lemon and honey. I have not tried the “Russian” remedy, which is warm water that you stir a tbs. of horseradish into! And I have gargled with warm saline solution (that was my Mom’s sore throat “go to.”) I am feeling some better but still have a deep cough.
I missed some birthdays, so happy birthday belatedly to those I missed (I did catch some of youse on Facebook though). FCM, omg, I had a huge crush on Mark Lindsay when I was like 14, I think!! Not on Paul Revere, though. LOL And I loved Herman’s Hermits too, Peter Noone, who is still around and still looks fairly handsome.
Thinking of all who are in the way of the hurricane Sandy, and praying for you that all will go well, or as well as can be expected. Many family and friends in the Tidewater area of VA, as well as in the mid-Atlantic states, esp. DE and PA.
Can’t think of a connection to J or 6 here, though, oh well! Happy Monday all.
June is the sixth month. In Korean we refer to months by number rather than giving them separate names.
Hope everyone in the path of Sandy stays dry and safe.
I’m starting a new job next March, at a private high school that pays well. I get summers and winters off! And I’m picking up a side gig, editing personal statements for rich kids, so hopefully we’ll be able to move to a bigger apartment next year. Our current apartment is way too cramped for two people and a cat.
FTR, neither could I :o – I just threw those out there!
Congrats on the new gig!
And – the solution to the cramped quarters is getting rid of an occupant. Since throwing a cat out is just mean (and doesn’t free much space) you’ll just have to ditch the BF I guess…
Or is that wishful thinking?
All those in the path of Sandy – stay warm, dry and safe. And try not to lose power – you’ll have no internet, so we won’t be able to hear from you, which is completely unacceptable! So just don’t!!
Hey Lunch - nice to see you stopped by! Did you bring pie?
Hmm…6 and J…my mother’s name begins with J but only has five letters. She is one of five siblings. I think you must just have mis-typed and you meant 5 and J!
Nothing exciting going on here, I got my hair cut on Saturday so I feel less like a shaggy dog now. Yesterday I went on a guided walk around the city where I live, escorted by a tourist board Blue Badge guide which was lots of fun. Then we went for lunch in the pub and it was so cold I had to have a couple of glasses of wine to warm up again. Such a hardship!
I think tonight when I change the bedding, the winter-weight duvet will be coming out otherwise I’ll be waking up in the mornings with cold toes and that is Just Plain Wrong.
(((((Herbs))))), hope you feel better soon!
And all you East-Coasters…stay safe! I saw some reports on the news about the arrival of Sandy and I hope you all manage to keep your feet dry and your hats on!
