Yeah! What gives about the out-of-synch-atude of the numbers? One night I’m being feted for being Mr Meg and the next morning we’ve misplaced tens of thousands of posts. Did Katherine Harris have something to do with it? And will that be the last Katherine Harris line anybody ever uses?
drop: the filing system counts all the posts ever made, but the front page numbering system only counts posts currently available.
Which means there’s quite a few thou deleted posts.

Thought they just wanted everybody to have the honor of making the millionth post, in the spirit of “everybody’s a winner” so prevalent in our schools these days.

I think it’s fair to celebrate when the odometer reads 1,000,000, no matter how many threads are left.
Won’t it mean more if there’s 1,000,000 threads available to look at? I think so
