US$0.58/liter, which makes for $2.22/gal – has briefly dipped a couple of cents lower but has been mostly holding steady since midsummer.
In Las Vegas it got as low as $2.43 at the cheapest stations for a few weeks, but has crept up to $2.49 today.
I’m on here so rarely these days, I went looking for the “like” button. I paid about that on New Years Eve at the Cumbies in Seekonk (with the Cumbies app) and thanked the same guy.
You know, this is actually one of the few times you can actually give credit to the Prez for lowering gas prices. Lifted sanctions on Iran is why we’re enjoying these prices. (Or partly so, at least.)
Using my Murphy discount card, I filled up for $1.59 this past weekend. It’s been quite cheap for a few months now.
$1.62 in Fargo, ND.
$1.77, not the cheapest gas in town.
Just for fun and giggles:
The price just dropped recently, so I now only pay about 5.8 shekels per liter.
Yeah, I’ll do the math for you: That’s a low $5.60 per gallon.
The price of diesel at the big supermarket outlets has dropped to £1.00/litre which is the lowest in 6 years. That works out to $5.55/US gallon.
$1.83 in Madison this morning. It’s been cheaper than that some months back.
I paid $1.72 on New Year’s Day…pumped for me; sadly, my next fill-up will be about 35-40 cents higher. Thanks PA [del]criminals[/del] legislature.
My information was old. Northern Virginia is now showing $1.83.
Still in the mid-$1.90 range in the Atlanta area, but I filled up in South Carolina last week for 1.67, less .80 supermarket rewards points, for a net of .87 per gallon. I was stoked!
$1.61 currently near me in NJ. It was $1.59 at the same station last week.
This is incorrect. Obama and Iran have very little to do with the current prices.
The low prices are because the Saudis opened up the pumps and haven’t stopped. They did this for numerous reasons, going after the frackers and others who have been cutting into Saudi market share, providing for their own needs and expanding refining and other operations. Oh, a nice side affect of this is keeping Iranian oil off the market as Iran can’t produce oil as cheaply as Saudi can. However, that isn’t the main cause for Saudi to open up the taps.
Add in that the rest of OPEC probably wouldn’t play along if the Saudis tried limiting output.
The gas prices have very little to do with Obama or Iran and very much to do with Saudi Arabia.
Gas here (Vegas) is running ~2.50 a gallon.
Slee
Lowest prices around are at the Seekonk BJ’s. They force the other stations lower in prices (Speedway, Gulf, Stop & Shop).
Of course, buying the right combo of things at Stop & Shop can have it’s advantages, filled up a few weeks ago for 22.9 cents a gallon. Yes, the car ghosted up to the pumps on fumes.
If you Google “Iran sanctions, gas prices” You will find an endless list of cites that say, lifting sanctions did indeed lower gas prices. I mean, how could it not? They are adding a crap load of crude to the global market.
The lowest price I can find in the Greater Toronto area is $.86!!!
…a liter That is $3.25/gal Canadian ($2.32/USD)
$3.09 Thanks Obama!
Where be ye?
