Wow man, way to make a guy feel guilty! I haven’t even sent mine away and I come home to a package from one of my internet friends!
I received not one, but TWO shot glasses AND my favorite collectable ever…a pen!
I have never been, nor do I have anything from the great state of Oregon and now I have one pretty looking elk’n’fish glass, and a shot glass with all of Oregon’s fun facts on it (I didn’t know states even had official state butterflys!)
All with a BEAUTIFUL Portland State pen and Business Card Holder
Got my package the other day. A very cool looking coated shot glass, with a nice “taste of Oregon”. Had some licorice in it, I am a big fan of licorice, and the Huckleberry flavor was new to me… but very good.
Mine is packaged and will be headed to the Hoosier State Monday.
I sent a package to Canada today, with a shotglass and some assorted British touristy… tat. What I didn’t do was put a note in it, as I forgot, so if someone gets that without a note, it’s from me
I took my package to the post office, and had made a mistake as to when the windows close. I was five minutes late, so my stuff will take off for the Pacific Northwest tomorrow.
Three Cheers for Atomic Mama!
I got a beautiful gold rimmed shot glass with a lovely scene of Maine, some lobster shaped maple candy, a can of lobster bisque, and a bottle of coffee brandy!
sigh I revealed to the post office dude that I had little bottles of bourbon in my box and was told that they were not allowed. I will make a new plan and try again tomorrow.
I knew it was from you the second I saw the return address!
SCORE!!
All sorts of goodies from South Carolina. Which has a special place in my heart, since my antecedents were stomping around that area 400 years ago. Let’s see…2 shot glasses (one of the state flag, one specifically from Murrells Inlet), a totally cool turtle ornament and coaster*, some sample material for the “laboratory equipment,” a Myrtle Beach Pelicans schedule, and a big bag of skillet corn bread mix that the wife glommed onto immediately. Thanks, Labtrash! This was a very thoughtful and generous package.
*- Special zing since I got married wearing a Hawaiian shirt with turtles on it, so turtley things are always special.
SQUEE!! An awesome Kansas shot glass with a tiny map and flag on it, some chocolate - covered sunflower seeds, and a cool Kansas coffee mug, which will be getting daily use starting in about 10 hours! I can’t wait to try all this stuff!
There was no note in the box, but I know which Doper sent it. I’ll assume anonymity is requested. So, to my special Kansas Doper friend, thank you!
'Fessing Up Dept: I have been on the road (sans computer), got ill, got diagnosed (sort of) w/a creepy blood condition – I have to go to the Hematology MD for further analysis – and have generally dropped the ball. And the computer blew up again.
silenus sent me a fabulous box 'o goodies from Vegas, and I just haven’t been able to pull myself together enough to write it up in this thread So, here goes!
One spectacular piece of “lab equipment” – a neon orange shooter from Sin City, and mini-sips of Bulleit Bourbon and Evan Williams Honey Reserve (mighty tasty)! Annnnd: A Captain America mousepad, chocolates wrapped in a petite satin drawstring bag (Venetian Palazzo), a pretty pink mini-LED flashlight that doubles as a bottle opener, very nice mini-shampoo/conditioner/lotion, the best lil mending kit I have EVER seen – pre-threaded needles w/various color threads, keychain & stickers from the alohashirtshop, used but sealed deck of (gamblers’!) playing cards, shoeshine cloth, Alias Season 2 trading cards, 3 skinny resort hotel pens, palm tree swizzle stick, rollinsmoke bbq sticker (YUM!), two fortune cookies, … and the grand finale is an appropos lapel pin reading: “It’s As Bad As You Think And They’re Out To Get You!”
Thank You. The Kindness Of Strangers overwhelms me.
