Anyone else been watching this season? It’s a great show and I’m enjoying it even more this year than last year.
The addition of Michael Hogan(Saul Tigh from BSG) has been awesome and the story has been more focused. I read that the show has a new show-runner this year and I think they are doing a better job.
I didn’t even realize it began already. I really liked its first season and can’t wait to see where they take it from there. Time to see if it’s on demand…
I googled to see if it was indeed Madeline Stowe doing the voice over in the season premiere, and it was (cool), but also found out she’s also going to appear on the show later on as well (obviously not as the same character she was in the movie, that one’s already taken!)
Now if only we could get Bruce Willis to make a cameo…
It’s very … Twin Peaks in the way that it seemingly has two plot lines - one relatively superficial that is easy to follow and one in an Other World that is fairly baffling.
We seem to have given up on the whole virus theme. But, now we’ve got this weirdness about The Witness that’s seemingly foreign to the entire enterprise of time travel and the end of the world and viruses.
Here’s hoping that it makes sense before the end! (Ditto for Twin Peaks!)
I saw on IMDB that the actors have listed “12 monkeys recap/finale” in their credits, so i assume this is ending this season. Honestly that sounds like a great idea, this is not a premise that can keep going for very long. I love this show and I’m glad to see it will get an actual ending rather than getting canceled, as it seems to have abysmal ratings.
I watch it, though it doesn’t always get my full attention so I’m often missing various important bits. Maybe I’ll go back and watch it straight through to understand what the hell is going on, but I’m not sure if that will even help.
I usually hate time travel as a concept and when other series add it I feel it’s a sign they are going downhill. This one started with time travel and it hasn’t been too bad. Unfortunately it isn’t set up to be a long running show.
So the witness appeared to Cassie as Aaron, her old (now dead) boyfriend?
Best I can figure, the virus can’t be stopped, only delayed, like Judgment Day in the Terminator franchise, because it already happened from the perspective of the future time travelers. I’m not sure if the characters in the show have fatalistically given up on preventing the virus; they certainly have more pressing concerns at the moment.
The destruction of time itself hasn’t happened yet from the perspective of anyone we’ve seen, so maybe it’s actually preventable. (Technically, it can’t happen from the perspective of anyone at all, since it would leave no survivors.)
Lullaby was a great episode. Jones getting her daughter back was a huge moment for the show and the actress playing Jones nailed it. I just want Saul Tigh to come back.
I think every time travel show does a “Groundhog Day” episode. Heck, ST:TNG did one and they’re not even time-travel centered. But it would have been funny if Jennifer had said “Hey, guys. You’re Groundhogging here.” Still, a very good episode.
Just finished catching up on season 2. Loved it! I felt it was much stronger than season 1. I like that they had a new challenge other than trying to stop the virus.
I didn’t know about the Madeline Stowe appearance until it happened–so great!
