1989 Honda Fourtrax value?

Hello Everyone,

My ex-father in law has A 1989 Honda Fourtrax 350 that he is tying to sell and I’m thinking of buying it as we could use it on our acreage. The ATV is in fairly good shape for being almost 25 years old. The engine runs smooth and has good power. The plastic is in okay shape with slight fading and some scratches. The frame, suspension, etc. is in fair shape, good mechanically but showing paint wear with some surface rust on some parts. The tires have about 45% tread left on them. The seat is in great shape with no rips or tears.

I did some work on it got him as it sat for about a year. I put in a new battery and installed a new carb. Essentially it’s a very good runner that looks good for it’s age. My question is: What are these things worth? I’ve tired looking around on places like Craigslist but I haven’t seen any of that vintage to try to get an idea of a value. I would like to buy this as it would be useful around the acreage, but I don’t want to over pay or not give him a fair price.

So, I’m sure that here are a few of you that have an idea of what this ATV should be worth, what do you think?

Best bet is more specialized listings, like ATV Trader. Here’s a 1987 to give you a rough idea.

I was thinking between $3-500. Nada is somewhat close. The guy asking $1800 is insane.

Thanks. I’m more inclined to go with the NADA value as I find it hard to believe a 25 year old ATV can be worth nearly 2k. I didn’t know that the NADA faced valued on ATVs.
