2 games that use .ogg files won't play any sound.

I had a game that wouldn’t play sound, and it used .ogg files for it. For the splash screens, and such, where they used mpeg video, sound worked, but nothing in the game based on the ogg files did.

I thought it was some sort of fluke/bug/error, except that I got another game, that also uses .ogg files, and I have the same problem.

Any idea what might be the cause of this? The games, I’d imagine, come with an integral .ogg decoder, so I’m a bit baffled. When I open the .ogg files individually in winamp, I can hear them just fine… it’s just that neither ogg based game will make a peep while I’m playing the game.

Maybe try uninstalling the Winamp ogg codec, if that’s possible.
Then, try re-installing the game(s).

If the Winamp ogg codec is interfering with the game’s codec, that might help.
