20 pounds of coffee

I’ve just ordered 20 pounds of coffee (in 32-ounce bags). 12 pounds of French Roast, 4 pounds of Dark Roast, and 4 pounds of Café Special (medium-dark roast). I’m set for the next three months. Taking advantage of Community Coffee’s 20% off and free shipping sale, it came to $5.995/pound.

And I don’t have to go to the store. The nice man in the brown truck brings it to my door.

Three different kinds? I don’t drink coffee myself, but those of my friends and family that drink that much demonstrate a narrowing of interest.

Are you doing different drinks with different foods? Or a custom blend?

I just like to rotate.

Sounds like a good deal. Do you get to set a delivery schedule? They don’t all arrive in one shipment, right?

I just purchased 10 pounds myself, of green unroasted beans. Costa Rica El Conquistador. $4.19/pound, because it’s unroasted!

No delivery schedule. I just hope that the 20% off plus free shipping deal happens around the time I need to order more. It all comes in one shipment.

So, you will let us know how long 120$ of coffee will last?

I buy our coffee eight pounds at a time from New Mexico Pinon Coffee. Flat rate $10 shipping. Good stuff.

I don’t drink it myself, but I have to fund my wife’s filthy habit. $6/lb. sound like a pretty good deal if its good coffee.

She has me buy Starbucks in 12 oz. bags and I wait till it goes on sale, and then use a coupon. Quick math come up with about $6.75/lb.

Every time I went to New Orleans I thought, ‘Man, that’s good coffee!’ And it was always Community. After years of buying Trader Joe’s French Roast, or Kirkland’s, I found out I could order Community Coffee. Last time I checked, it was cheaper than TJ’s, and tasted even better. YMMV, of course, but I like it.
ETA: HEY! ‘Filthy habit’?

.

This. I buy all my coffee green, and pay similar low prices. And it’s always freshly roasted.

How about a couple crates of Beef-A-Reeno?

We order boutique coffee from a small roaster in Addison, TX, and boutique pot from a small grower in Portland,Oregon. There is no longer a reason to leave the house…

Sure.

The coffee arrived today, delivered by FedEx instead of UPS. I have two pounds of coffee I haven’t opened yet, and there’s about half a pound in the bin. So roughly 22½ pounds total.

Coffee ALWAYS tastes better in New Orleans, like most other foods.

42 ounces down, tomorrow will be the first pot of the new shipment.

So is this pre-ground? Whole roasted bean? Unroasted?

I generally get 5 lbs of espresso beans at a time, pre-roasted whole bean locally. Lasts about a month . . .

Don’t you get dizzy?

And the girls are prettier, too.

Two pounds lasted two weeks.
