What was weird was his referring to his son Ennis as though he were still alive. But, yeah, the sunglasses were also bizarre. Maybe it was some kind of Jack Nicholson homage?
But they still have shows running this season, which leaves them eligible next time around.
I didn’t like TWW winning again, but with Sorkin gone, I don’t think they will be much of a factor anymore. There were some other real head-scratchers: Tyne Daly? Wayne Brady? I dislike Raymond but can understand that it had been around long enough that it was “due”. Still, I love when Brad Garrett wins–he gives the funniest acceptance speeches (his Seabiscuit line re: Jon Stewart was hilarious).
Well, not Joe Pantoliano, since his character was killed off (and I don’t think anyone’s betting on him returning for The Handler).
Jon Stewart was the best of the comedy hosts, and Darrell Hammond was the worst. The multiple host thing is always a disaster–too hit & miss, and the tone constantly shifts all over.
That’s exactly what I was thinking when Damon Wayans came out to present. Ugly hat, too.
Maybe Cosby was doing his Ray Charles impression?
I liked Martin Short, too.
As my friend commented last night, “NO! Everybody doesn’t love Raymond! Everybody wants to KILL Raymond!”
I thought Brad Roberts was pretty snarky with his speech and he thanked the producers for not firing his ass for holding out for more money.
I thought Cosby sounded strange with that too.
I enjoyed Conan and Wanda Sykes (she was right in line with what she’s like on her show, loud and obnoxious…and I love the show). Anyways, I think Bill Cosby is losing it. First it was the hypocritical lashing of The Osbourne’s (too long to get into here) and his entire demeanor last night seemed off.
I think it’s Brad Garrett.
Apparently enough people watch it to justify making Ray Romano the highest paid comedy actor in television. I have no idea where these people are, since everyone I know thinks the same way you do.
<LOL> yes it is. “Brad Roberts” works for my company. <lol>
Did you see him afterwards when being interviewed in the press room. Somebody asked from Armed Services Radio/TV asked him to give a shout out to the enlisted that were watching. he went into this diatribe about people in power that was so totally off. It was strange!

Let me be the first fan of “Everybody Loves Raymond” to say, “I love Ray and am not ashamed to admit it.”
While I’m coming clean, I would also like to mention that I loved “Fast Lane” on FOX, and wish eternal damnation to those whom canceled it.
And yes, I am being serious.
I want to see the movies My Home in Umbria and the one I really want to see is Normal (about a father who decides he wants to be a woman) Where can I get these movies? Blockbuster doesn’t have them.
I loved seeing Doris Roberts and Tyne Daly win. I’m not a big fan of Everybody Loves Raymond, but I think Doris is a wonderful actress. I knew as soon as I saw the episode Tyne submitted (which dealt with the death of Richard Crenna) that she would win the Emmy. I remember thinking at the time that it would be painful to win an award primarily because your acting partner died, but I thought she handled it with elegance and class.
That said, I was appalled by the crass jokes made about these two lovely ladies by Brad Garrett and Damon Wayans. Yes, we know you’re young and hip, and it’s fun to crack wise about women who don’t meet the Hollywood standard of youth and sex appeal, but show a little respect! Those women have paid their dues and they deserve it.
Elsewhere, the hosting job for 2004 is Jon Stewart’s if he wants it. And William H. Macy is adorable.
Isabelle - Normal will be released on video on October 7, and My House in Umbria will be released November 25. They should be available at Blockbuster shortly after those dates.
Wow, I missed that. I wonder what’s going on with him…
Who won for guest actors and actresses?
I see Will and Grace won for best male guest. Was it Harry Connick Jr?
Guest Actress was Christina Applegate.
She didn’t look very good last night.
Guest Actor (Comedy) was Gene Wilder as Will’s boss. Sadly, Will’s old boss, Gregory Hines, was among the actors featured in the memorial segment.
