I’m 5’3", so I’m pretty short. I’d say my frame falls somewhere between small & medium, probably closer to small.
According to the Met Life tables, your ideal weight is between 111 and 124, or 121 and 135, depending on your frame. We’d tell you that your target weight (for statistical purposes) is 128. That’s the average of average for your height. But even at your current weight, your BMI is 23.9, and that’s pretty good!
Neat! I was just going by the Weight Watchers charts, which don’t account for frame size.
I try not to get too hung up on the numbers. My biggest goal right now is to get in shape. I’ve been really, really slacking in the exercise department, and it really makes a difference. I don’t want flappy arms.
My best guage of my success is usually how my clothes are fitting and how I look in the mirror.
We use the Met Life tables which do. Except we discard the 1st and 3rd columns. And then we use the middle of the range on the middle coulmn. It’s very scientific. :dubious:
Actually, it’s for the state. They’re interested in our outcomes, and that’s how they define healthy weight. I have to show the percentage of excess weight lost, measured as current weight minus target weight divided by initial weight minus target weight times one hundred. For every patient. Then averaged. For four time periods. Grouped by surgical procedure.
By Tuesday.
174.5 this morning! WOOHOO!
Yay Ginger!
Heh. No idea. Our meeting’s been cancelled. :0)
Just so you know, Birthday Boy, that doesn’t mean a free week of eating everything in sight.
Damn!
LOLOLOL. I’ll have to keep that in mind…
Yay indeed!
So what does that make your total?
Wheeeee!
Good for you sweetie!
Well, I don’t really know, to be honest. I was either 260 or 256; so, that’s either 81.5 or 85.5.
Yay, Ginger! May this be the start of a long, plateau-free period of weigh loss for you!
I need to get new walking shoes. My bone spur is being a pain a part of the anatomy in which it isn’t located. However, I’m down to 195.8 this morning and I can finally, officially say that I’ve lost 50 pounds!
WOOT Tikki!
On Wednesday I got home from a week-long business trip to New York. My weigh-in day is Monday. I decided that it would be stupid to try to stick to the core plan while I’m in freaking New York, so instead I went strictly core (no points) for the half-week before I left, and now I’m going strictly core for the half-week until weigh-in. In New York, I had core breakfasts and tried to have salads for lunch, but otherwise, fuggedaboudit! I had lasagna and cannoli and red wine at my favorite Italian place–vodka and pelmeni at my favorite Russian place–tea at Bergdorf Goodman–bread pudding–a gigantic hamburger–etc.
When I got home, I was up two pounds to 178.5, but 24 hours later was back down to 176.5. So I didn’t do any net damage! I’ll definitely take that.
Wow. You go! That’s really impressive.
I think it’s important to be on a plan where you can live a little every now and then. Great food is part of a complete life, so you have to get a double fudge sundae every now and then.
When I go to Rockport in May, you can bet that I’m going to chow down on hot dogs and lobster. Those four days aren’t going to make me fatter. It’s what I do every other day of the year that counts.
Thank you. It wasn’t hard at all at the beginning. Now, I’m pulling my hair out.
