Not overnight, I’ll give Obama until at least Feb 1 to fix the economy, end the war and give everyone a pony.
[Lewis Black] Why the fuck are you callin’ me? Talk to some experts! Talk to all the experts! [/LB]
What I’m hearing from interviews with Democrats so far is a steady theme of needing to be moderate and work for bipartisan solutions to the mess of problems facing the country. Given that’s Obama’s bent, let’s hope he can make it so.
John Bolton guesting on on the BBC just lambasted his hosts for their bias and general poor reporting. They have Simon Schama sitting next to him, writhing around like a drunken glove puppet. It makes for a weird spectacle.
Izzard, Stewart, Franken, Cleese: the (intentional) comedians are the only ones that make sense these days.
I would be so damn proud of my state!! Go Zona!
Can someone fix my coding? Thanks and President Obama thanks you too!
I just heard that Republican in New England have lost all of their seats in the House. Wow, that is not a good sign for the party.
Presidential race is now over.
But I’m not suprised since I’ve been counting my chickens for a week and a half. Every time my wife freaked out I’d tell her that the election was in the bag. My personal guarantee.
Well, now all that’s left is Congress, plus the various governors. I’d like to see how Prop 8 in CA is doing…
Elizabeth Dole was declared a loser, but Mitch McConnell keeps his seat. And Sununu’s out…
One of the American bloviators on the BBC is Michael Bolton. Yeesh. This guy needs to stop representing my country.
ETA:
He demanded that a reporter be fired for confronting a party flack with an inconvenient fact and crankily reminded them that “you’re guests in this country!”
OMG, ponies!!!1!!!1!!1
Why the hell are you watching our elections, Sassenachs? It’s 3:22 there, isn’t it? Go to bed. The good guys won.
I’d just like to extend my condolences to Skald The Rhymer, who [perhaps fortunately] won’t be the first black man to rule [del]the world[/del] America.
Nah, you’ve got it all wrong, he isn’t guesting on the BBC, the BBC are guests in his country.
I think it’s about time they kicked him out the door. He always seems to pop up on the BBC (maybe not again though…).
Edit: Heh, now he’s no longer sitting at the table.
Yeah, it’s 3:20am here, but damn, this effects us too!
I’m trying really hard not to get overexcited, but damn! My fellow Ohio Dopers are getting me all riled up!!
WOOOOOOOOOoooooooo!!!
Our polls are still open for about 38 minutes, so it’ll be a bit. I’m really nervous on that one.
Flipped over to Fox News just for kicks and the first three things on the ticker were McCain winning three states. Each state he won got it’s own headline.
They condensed 8 states Obama won to 2 headlines.
Maybe it means nothing…
There goes Texas
Today we are all Negroes.
Wow. We really elected a Black president. As someone who lived for a time in the segregated South, I find that astonishing and invigorating. The times the are a changin’.
Well, he couldn’t get confirmed to the U.N. The BBC must be his backup gig.
Michael Bolton? Wow, he has aged badly. Still, maybe he will grace us with one of his trademark power ballads.
Can Ted Stevens even vote for himself since he’s a convicted felon? Mary Landrieu is one of the most conservative Democrats in the Senate, but she’s lost alot of voters due the migrations of Katrina.
