I love being an Arizona Cardinals fan. Great pick by the Cards.
The guy just doesn’t pass the eyeball test. He looks really slow with pads on and doesn’t get out of breaks or get separation. In college that’s fine when you have that much size, in the pros it’ll kill you. His fluctuating weight is alarming too, for a lineman it’s one thing, for a WR who you expect to be a physical specimen it’s very worrisome, especially when it’s a guy who wasn’t that fast to begin with. He catches a lot of balls with his body and frankly played against some very mediocre competition. I’m thinking David Terrell-like career.
You do have a point…damn you!
Wells is just about perfect for them. They don’t need a dynamic guy, they just need a guy to get short yardage and take advantage of all the space that the passing game creates. Donald Brown would have been even better, but they’ll be fine with him. He probably needs to lighten up to take some pressure off his feet though.
I didn’t like Rey at #5 or #17 but for #33-36, why not. Or Everette Brown. I feel like both of them will dissapear in the next 5 picks, though… Maybe take one of those 6th round picks and trade up.
Only 12 defensive players taken in the first round. Not a single Safety. No MLBs or ILBs.
Wonder if Delmas will slide to the Bears…
ETA: Heh…no sooner do I say it…Lions, Delmas.
ETA2: Uh Oh. Safety run, the Bears must be getting very nervous. It’s a very thin position.
Every time you speculate, they’re gone 5 seconds later
Start speculating about about Britton, Butler, and Alphonso Smith, please
I wanted Patrick Chung before today started, but I figure they probably aren’t drafting a safety early since they traded for Elam.
This means that one of Everette Brown or Rey will be there at 36.
Pat White will go to the Patriots. Not sure where, but it’ll happen.
EDIT: Well, at least they took a player named Pat…
Well, the Lions take the best safety around. I like that. I was just telling gonzomax on the phone that we need a Mark Carrier-type safety to put the fear of god into opposing receivers.
Wonder how long Everette Brown will last. The Bears aren’t planning on taking a DE early and he’s not a ideal fit in a 4-3 but he might be a great value there. If all the Safeties are gone and Massaquoi is gone, the Bears will have to be creative.
ETA: There goes Robiskie. I didn’t want the guy, but the WR position is thinning out fast.
Hopefully he won’t last 1 more pick.
FFS. Brian Robiskie over Everette Brown and Rey?
With that it’s time to start drinking…gonna be a dicey 13 picks.
Oh, come on, some receivers are always found in later rounds.
By the way, it’s about time people started moving up to draft Everette Brown, right? What about Rey Malualalalalaga?
I knew the Browns were going to take Robiskie, I should have posted it and gotten cred.
Agreed. There are a handful of guys, there’s 3 guys in that 6’5" range with speed, that would make great 3rd round picks for the Bears. However, all indications are that the Bears intended to take a WR with the 49th pick and there aren’t many guys valued at that range left. Just 1 as a matter of fact.
My current hope for the Bears is Sean Smith of Utah. Could play both CB or S and has excellent size and durability. Gimme gimme. I like him over Massaquoi considering what other WRs are available later.
ETA: There goes Rey-Rey to the Bungles.
I wish Denver would’ve offered their '10 1st round pick to the Browns at 36. High price to pay for a trade since they’re probably gonna be drafting in the 10-15 range.
Edit: I guess they may have traded the Bears #1, or made a condition to trade whichever was lower. Not such a bad deal then since the Bears will probably finish significantly better than them.
Here goes Pat White.
Hmm. Back to back picks. Conner Barwin maybe, or maybe even Everette Brown finally.
Brace is really impressive. He’ll fit in well in New England. Now they need a OLB, Barwin would be the guy I’d take for sure.
ETA: Nope, Darius Butler. Hope no one is eyeballing my guy Smith in these next few picks.
I was wrong on New England then. I wonder how far Everette Brown is going to drop. There’s a chance either Brown or Barwin will be available at #50…
I don’t think Brown will last past Miami. Barwin seems like a fit for SF.
Another CB comes off the board. They are trying to kill me!!
Panthers trade up and finally grab Everette Brown. Makes sense with Peppers in limbo.
