All 'Zona wanted was a 2 and a player. And the Eagles have shitloads of cap room.
Hmmm. The Lions go Pettigrew…he’s a great blocker, Stafford needs that, and a TE helps a young QB a ton. Probably a great pick, but that must have been tough to pass on a OT. Still, they can get Britton in round 2.
Pettigrew? Interesting. He’ll help blocking for whatever turnstyle the Lions have at the tackles.
Define shitloads. Giving an aging WR $10M for like 5 years is a big commitment. I love Boldin, don’t get me wrong, but I can understand the logic.
Surprised they passed on Oher there if they were seriously considering a tackle at the #1 before.
My guess/hope is they’re still hoping to do a deal. Maclin to the Cards for Boldin and a mid-round pick in 2010 sounds fair…
Well they needed more blocking, and they needed a complementary target to Jackson, so they split the difference. But seems pretty gambley to me
So what are the odds Cleveland drafts someone here? Maualuga would be a good value and fit.
Johnson. Calvin Johnson.
Vodka Martini, shaken, not stirred.
This is the part of the draft I hate. Waiting to see which guys are going to be available for the Packers to pick. Oher can’t fall that far. But who will?
Rey feels like a bust to me. I really really like the idea of a thumper ILB, but Rey is too exploitable and his weaknesses were covered in college by being surrounded by very good players.
I just don’t understand the logic of trading up to get Maclin. What does he do for the offense? They already have speedsters who can stretch the field in Jackson and Curtis. They need someone who has bigtime size and can go over the middle and make really tough catches. They need someone who can break out of press coverage and get 5 or 6 yards. Maclin doesn’t do that. Not a fan!
Almost $40 million under. And 28 is not “aging.” Boldin has a solid 3-5 years left until you’d expect decline.
Hey, a center. Let’s see if this one can make it through training camp.
No way. They could’ve had him at #36.
I mean, it’s a need… but address it at #36. If he gets taken at the end of the first round, grab that other center who’s pretty good.
When was the last time a center was drafted as high as #21? Is Mack considered an elite center prospect?
I don’t know what’s wrong with Maclin to the Eagles. What, they don’t throw it enough to have 2 NFL-caliber threats out there?
I’m guessing they lump Oher in with the second tier of OT’s; Britton and Beatty. So they’re hoping one of those three fall to their first pick in the second.
Browns get a good, solid player. And I remain surprised Oher keeps dropping.
Pettigrew? Really? Cuz when I think of positions at 0-16 team needs to feel, “TE” is right at the top of my list. Oher is tumbling like crazy…
Think of Pettigrew as Stafford Part 2. He’s an excellent fit for the Lions circumstances, especially with Johnson stretching the field.
The Vikings grab Harvin. Makes sense I suppose, if this guy is as electric as people think I’m worried as a Bears fan. Harvin AND Peterson will be tough to contain.
New England almost has to go LB here right? Maualuga finally comes off the board.
Is he going to take catches from Westbrook? Donovan loves throwing to TEs, Maclin doesn’t provide that type of target. He’s exactly the same type of player as DeSean Jackson, why does he get those catches? They don’t throw it that much.
