2009 NFL Draft Day Conversation

That’s funny. I was about to say the Bears remind me of the Browns. :stuck_out_tongue:

Bears should consider trading up and grabbing Maclin…

More braking news… the Browns trade out of the first round entirely… and out of the entire draft, trading every single pick in this year’s draft, to various teams. The Browns reportedly get dozens of late round picks over the next four years. More as details come in.

I’m wondering how much it would cost to move up from 41 for the Packers to grab Oher.

Do the Lions go Oher? Maualuga? Barwin? Hmm…

The Eagles are moving up? No Boldin or Edwards then, who do they think they’re getting? Beanie? Pettigrew?

The Browns picked a good draft to trade down in…

Maclin, I assume?

The Browns are passing up good value (Maclin) here to keep dropping back to target someone they expect to be there in the 20s… I’d like to have drafted Maclin here instead of trading again.

That would be the greatest move ever, I’m afraid they don’t have the guns to do it though. Though with WRs sliding maybe a guy like Britt will fall far enough to make a trade up realistic though.

HaHa…Browns trade back again…Maclin to the Eagles. Looks like no Boldin of Ochocinco for them.

Maclin to the Eagles?

Brownies must think that he’s a “system wide receiver” to pass on him this many times.

…and there’s McNabb’s new target. Surprise!

Maclin to Eagles!

Interesting combination with DeSean Jackson… both very fast, smaller guys (though Maclin is larger than Jackson) who do returns. I think they would’ve been better off getting Boldin, who is a physical bruiser.

Or they’re totally locked onto someone like Rey maybe and they think he’ll be there in the 20s.

I don’t like passing on Maclin, but at least it seems to indicate Edwards will stay with the team.

If the Lions get Oher, that’s a pretty fucking nice first round for them.

I don’t like this deal for the Eagles. Why do you want 2 WRs that both do the same things?

I think it probably says more about them just not wanting a WR at all. The must be keeping Edwards and going defense or something.

I gotta say, I like Boldin a helluva lot better than Maclin. Surprise indeed.

Berman, you idiot. “I don’t know if Jackson returns punts.”

I like Boldin better foo. But they’d have had to pay Boldin $10-11M per year in addition to giving up picks. I figure that’s why they prefer the rookie.

Confusion tactics? Maybe they’re planning a sitcom combining The Parent Trap and Hard Knocks.
