2010 - A How'd-10-Years-Go-By-That-Fast? MMP

We don’t want even wayward snowflakes! They might just think, “Hmmmmm… nobody even noticed. Let’s go back and get the whole family!” We must be ever vigilant Puggy!

If anyone’s interested in seeing the latest baby blanket that I finished knitting, there are three pictures here. The first three are the recently-completed project. Everything else is older.

Work is insane right now. Not sure what happened, but I want my 'Dope time back!

taxi, I love that blanket - how big is it? I may steal that idea for the next one I make…

Heck, you’re off for the next four days. Hop a plane to Minneapolis, break in taxi’s house and steal the blanket! She’ll never suspect it was you.

Hi guys.

Getting ready to go over to Peace Corps Girl’s mom’s house this evening. I thought we were going out to dinner, but I guess I thought wrong. There’s not much else to do 'round these parts, though, in the evening.

As you may have seen on fb, I had to take the Bubster to the vet today. I noticed about a half dollar sized clump of fur matted with blood. The vet gave me some antibiotics because Bub has a fever and told me how to care for it. I removed most of the icky stuff and can see a puncture wound underneath. So I’d like to know who sent a one-fanged vampire after my dog?? :dubious::smiley: Anyways, he’s doing ok and has been hanging a little closer to me than usual.

Gotti, actually, the banks aren’t really stupid, they’re actually quite clever. I screwed up and used the wrong debit card and caused my personal account to be overdrawn. It was over by 17.09 and because 4 different things went through after it was over, I got charged 4 overdraft fees of $33 each. It just seems very convenient that they accepted all of those things and made an extra $132 off of me. Is it my fault? Yes. Do I feel that they still took advantage of the situation? Absolutely.

Survived work and saw my girly bits doc. There’s a fibroid between my lining and uterine wall, along with a fibroid on top of the uterus. This would explain some of the issues I’ve been having.

At any rate, I’m having surgery. The scheduler was out today, but will contact me in a day or two.

I’m having a D&C, NovaSure Ablation, and a hysteroctopy to excise most of one the fibroids. The one top, we’re leaving for now. The doc can’t remove the whole fibroid because he could possibly cut the wall.

He laid out three options, hysterectomy, the above listed procedures, and a newish one that is done by a radiologist. I opted for the ablation because I had researched it and felt comfortable with it. I did ask the doctor what he thought, and he agreed the ablation was the way to go for now.

He asked me if I had any questions or concerns because I seemed very calm. What am I supposed to do? Freak out? It’s not a huge deal; it’s a situation that needs to be dealt with, I’ve chosen one that requires little recuperation, and I’ve researched it. I told him that, and he chuckled and said it was obvious I had been reading up on it based on the statements I had made and questions I did ask him.

I did warn him that codeine makes me very, very sick. I asked him to find another pain killer. I was sent home with something synthetic way back when I had my gall bladder removed and suffered no ill effects from it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t remember the name of the drug, but told him it should still be in my records since I had the operation through this same HMO.

At any rate, I feel better now that I can finally move forward with things.

One more work day to get through.

Love the colour of the blankie, taxi… I’m very partial to that shade of blueish-greenish.

Glad they’ve got an answer for some of your troubles, Taters. A friend of mine is having similar procedures done in a little over a week… hope they can schedule you in soonish so that you can get it over and done with.

Glad the pup is doing better, Pie.

I suppose I ought to go scrounge for some dindins, seeing as The Boy is working late-ish tonight and left me on my own. I’m thinking leftover garlic soup, so that I can scare off those one-fanged vampires if they come visit us in Toronto.

That’s why I don’t read a lot of Margaret Atwood. I can only roll my eyes back so far and then it starts to hurt.

I met a guy at the coffeeshop last week, did I mention that? We hung out on NYE, he gave me a hug as we parted ways to go to our respective beds for the night, and I haven’t seen him since. This is most likely because he’s staying at the Salvation Army right now (hence the odd wording about our parting) and due to the cold all the shelters are beyond capacity right now. I have his number. Am I calling or texting him to find out if this is the case and to say hi? No. No I am not. Because I am a coward.

Skimmed a lot of the thread, rosie’s sig to all!

Spaz - tread carefully there - sounds highly suspect to me.

Yeah I know. That’s another reason for inaction.

**Webner **- sounds like you started the *first *decade of the millenium in *first *class style!

And let me be the *first *to welcome you to the MMP!

Now I’m going to knit for a while. Did I mention I’m off work tomorrow and Monday?

My right leg is bruised because a stupid car brushed past me yesterday and knocked me to the ground. Of course, the slippery snow didn’t help either. Ow.

Someone make the snow melt!!

{{{Haze}}}

I’m just wondering why I’m still awake. I need to get some sleep. I have a secret mission to complete tomorrow before I head to TVLand. ;)

I worked, went and watched the Canes lose at the Backyard Bistro Mojo party. Despite the lack of forecasts, some people are spreading some of that snow crazy talk around here. : waves snow shovel to frighten away flakes :

Are you OK Haze?

Welcome Webner!

Good luck, Tates! After having a nurse for a mother, and working for a pharmacy for 10 years, I find myself advising my doc on my meds(I can’t take X because I’m on Y, can we try Z instead?)

Pie, sounds like you have überfleas. I say you take off, and nuke your house from orbit(It’s the only way to be sure).

kopek, I’ll be in Pittsburgh between August 9 and 15th. Let me know if you wanna get together of a beer or many.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN

Taters glad to know you know what needs to be done now. Here’s hopin’ you get it scheduled and over with soonest.

{{{Haze}}}

Live in fear Pittsburgh!

Ok, off to forage and purtify for work.

Oh and the temp stayed above freezin’. It rained pretty much all night. The weather fears me!

Happy Firday Y’all!

I’m up and at work, decaffeinated though but it’s better than nothing. The snow that was forecast never appeared but we have plenty of ice. Tonight I need to dig the car out of the drive and get the grocery shopping done so that will be fun. Apparently we are supposed to get more snow today and possibly over the weekend too. Do you think I could wave Swampy at the sky and make it go away?

Taters, it’s good that you now have a plan to tackle your troubles and I hope the scheduler gets you fixed up sooner rather than later!

I went to Pittsburgh once, I recovered quite well.

The latest snowpocalypse has bypassed Cottonfield County. We got a little bit of ice at first, but the temperatures stayed too warm for it to accumulate, and I never did see any snow, just rain.

My heart bleeds.

Can I come too?

Otherwise, blurfity, blurf.

This is the first season of snow since the pups moved to their new location in the house. (They sleep in crates at night.) And it just so happens to give them the perfect view of the front yard and driveway so they can see and hear when the snow plow goes by at 3:40 in the morning and again at 7:15.:o <== me yawning

OK, all you folks chasing the snow didn’t have to chase it to my place. :stuck_out_tongue: We got about 2", I’m guessing. I went to breakfast with FCD, then he went to work and I came home. There were spots where the roads were just wet, and others, like in our neighborhood, where there was an inch or two on the surface. I slid a little as I turned on to my road, but mostly, driving was no big deal. IF the flakes persist on our driveway once the sun comes up, I’ll go out and push it aside. Thankfully, there’s not a lot, so it should be a quick job.

Even tho I took off today, I decided to call in to see what work status is - start at 9. I could have had 2.5 free hours!! I don’t care - I wanted to stay home, so here I am. Yay. Chores await, and I’ll get to them after I read the funnies and Dear Abby. I may even bake something today.

Meanwhile, quit sending your @(%&@^#&* snow to St. Mary’s County. KTHXBYE!
