2012-2013 Season Wrap-up (spoilers for everything tv after first post)

This season’s shows are either ending or have ended. What were the hits? Misses? Give up on anything or pick up something? This is the place to discuss.
I started the season excited for Community, Archer, and Doctor Who to return. I don’t have cable so I buy episodes from Amazon for 1.99 a piece. I ended up unsubscribing from Community after the first few episodes, which were horrid. Based on the Community thread I’ll probably finish the season, as I was told it got better.

Archer was a disappointment this season, for me. It’s still one of my favorite shows, but I don’t think it lived up to the previous seasons. It never seemed to have found its groove. An Onion AV Club review made a point that I agree with: the fourth season is usually tough because they have to balance bringing back older jokes and callbacks with new stuff. I don’t think Archer did that very well: their seemed too many rehashes of old jokes.

Doctor Who was ok. Not bad, but not great I don’t know why but it didn’t grab me this year, even though I love the new companion.

Nothing really lost me, though. I didn’t watch much tv as I was finishing up school and we had a newborn (I mean, we still have her but she’s not a newborn anymore).

What about y’all? Did Elementary turn out great? Anything canceled that you’re sad about? What will you do with your life now that the Office is over? Who shot JR?
Speaking of the Office, I stopped watching years ago even though my wife kept up. It was still weird seeing the show. It’s been on for how many years? They showed clips from the different seasons and it blew my mind. I was still in high school when that episode aired! I remember watching that while in Iraq. My wife and I watched that episode in our first place after we got married. I watched the finale with my 15 week old in my arms.

Crazy.

I avoid the last few episodes of favorite shows. Still haven’t seen the last few of 30 Rock or Community, though NBC.com and Hulu are pretty good about letting me watch for free. Haven’t seen the last couple seasons of Bones or Parks and Rec or The Office; the baby killed Bones for me, don’t know why with P&R (did that end?), but with The Office I just cannot stand Ed Helms. Haven’t seen Grimm or Elementary since last Fall. I’m several episodes behind with Person of Interest, Psych, White Collar, and even Top Gear.

So, I guess for me the 2012-2013 season is far from over, or it was over before it started and I’m left with Doctor Who, documentaries, and British panel shows on YouTube.
