2013 Jeopardy! online test thread

20 out of 50. Oh well, back to being an armchair Jeopardy contestant.

Yeah, this was bad, got at least 22 possibly 24… still YUK!

Yikes, glad I didn’t take the Central test, I would’ve been lucky to get 30 of those!

Looking back I would have gotten at least three more right if I had just noticed the Categories quicker.

Even though I did pretty poorly (28 out of 50), I have to admit it was fun. I kind of wish they did this weekly even just for the hell of it.

OK, I’m signed up for the first time ever. The test tonight is a little later than I’d prefer (11 p.m. EST), but I missed the first two nights.

I actually found out about the online test due to a promo during the show yesterday. I’ve thought about trying out for the show since college (>20 years ago).

Best of luck! Take the Tuesday and Wednesday tests for practice (both are located in this thread).

Hey, it’s 16 minutes to the hour, but the timer says Test Starts in 19:00. (???)

Yeah, it’s two minutes of now, but the timer says five. <shrug>

Mine just crashed after question 8. I got a grey box with a (!) in it and now I can’t resume the test. :frowning:

How did I do? Let me count the ways:

  1. Terrible
  2. Awful
  3. Embarrassingly bad
  4. Stupendously thickheaded

You get the picture. :stuck_out_tongue:

No audition for me again!

Wow, I absolutely ate shit on this one (tonight’s). Worst I’ve ever done.

Dunno how well I did this time. I had to skip at least four questions, and there were another three or four I had absolutely no idea about. 38/50, maybe?

Seems like they’re making the tests harder to compensate for more people taking them.

Interestingly enough, though, the Shakespeare one which I took a total wild-ass guess on, I turned out to have the right answer. (Twelfth Night)

I got about 39-40.

Like previous tests, it was incredible heavy on literature and art, with no sports questions at all that I recall. Not a good mix for me.

Having said, that I was lucky I took today’s in the sense that I would have done far, far worse on the Tuesday and Wednesday tests.

Wow…I feel better about this one then I’ve ever felt about taking one of these before.

(…he says, having not seen his actual score.)

Well, fuck.

I was cautiously optimistic after getting a 45 on Tuesday’s test and a 36 on Wednesday’s test. But that sound you heard from the Midwest was the sound of me crashing and burning on the one that counted. If I broke 30 I would be surprised. That was a sickening combination of stuff outside my wheelhouse, and blanking on several answers.

Shit.

Okay… Easiest part of that test was listening to the theme music. :smack:

Tonight’s was unbelievably difficult. I had to leave 4-5 blank, and guessed randomly on many others. I’d be shocked if I got even half right.

What was the lizard answer? Also the captain of that damn submarine?

That would be Nemo and the Komodo dragon.

I, for one, had absolutely no idea who wrote Tosca, who’s face was on a Pepsi can last year, who wrote North of Boston (turns out it was Robert Frost), or who Garren Flynn (?) even is, let alone the title character of the book he wrote.

I also took a wild guess on what Kate Middleton was hospitalized for - I knew she was pregnant, so I said “nausea”. Wikipedia informs me that that’s pretty much what “hyperemesis gravidarium” is, so score one there.

I think kimodo dragon and captain Nemo.

ETA: Ninja’d AND misspelled.
