2014 Golden Globes

Good to see Amy harnessing the power of Bono to bring home that Globe.

What is the lovely Emma Stone wearing? It makes her look like some patched-together Frankenstein creature.

What do you know. Dianne Keaton really does talk like Annie Hall in real life!

Spreading the love around here. Acting wins for American Hustle, screenwriting for Her, directing for Gravity (yeah, I know they split things up between drama and comedy/musical, but still … spreading things around pretty well).

“Herpes”/“earpiece” was pretty funny.

wow! Brooklyn 99 is getting lots of love. I hope that means it’s ratings are good enough to get it another season, and the show grows and gets better. (It’s already great. But, it would be fantastic if it could reach Parks and Rec levels.)
I loved seeing how happy the cast was to be up on stage.

Leo, thanking his fellow nominated “comedians.” Ha!

I really like how that cast works together. A nicely drawn list of characters, I think, and the interaction between Braugher and Samberg keeps getting better.

I still never dreamed they’d actually win tonight. I was just glad to see them nominated.

And Cuaron! From A Little Princess to Harry Potter to Children of Men to Gravity, and along the way he introduced Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna to many of us. I feel bad for Steve McQueen but I’m so happy for Cuaron.

Hemsworth and Lauda! I’m with you Uncle Jocko, Rush was fantastic!

No kidding.

No clips for the males either. Huh.

Best thing about that Google Play commercial - Zoolander!

Nice intro for Leonardo DiCaprio! Good one.

They were a little late on the button for that one, too.

Cate Blanchett: “Thanks for plying me with vodka the same way Judy Garland perhaps was plied with barbiturates.”

Matthew McConaughey is pretty awesome. That was a fun speech. I’m sure I will see that movie. But, I am really looking forward to his new HBO show with Woody Harrelson.

Yeah, that cracked me up. Her whole speech was good.

Me too. Early reviews for it are great.

Next up? Academy Award nominations get announced on Thursday…

Julia Louis-Dreyfuss wuz robbed; that is all.

That was a pretty awesome tribute for Woody. And she was a perfect choice for it.

Well, I can promise I will be one checking it out now.

Leo certainly comes across as a classy fella. Nice to see.

Overall a thoroughly entertaining show. If the Oscars are half as good I’ll be surprised.

In which category? For her movie nomination (Enough Said with James Gandolfini) or for Veep? Enough Said is the first (and only) thing I’ve seen her in, and I thought she was terrific. I was glad to see her nominated.

Edit, that was for Chefguy of course.

They never show clips for the individual actors nominated, film or TV. I don’t think they ever have, if they did they stopped doing it years ago.

What did you think of Tina and Amy’s performance tonight? I think Ricky Gervaise was funnier.

Best joke of the night:
