Now, THAT was a football game! Great semi-final. Not staying up to see the other one finish.
Great semi-final. One of the better college games I’ve seen in a while. I thought Georgia would beat OU but not the way that they did. If someone had said that OU will hang anything higher than 30 points on Georgia, I would have predicted an OU victory. I didn’t think Georgia could win a shootout with the Sooners. Crazy game.
I thought Clemson would beat Bama but so far looks like Nick Saban’s 4-week game prep is living up to the legend. Still, I can already tell that Clemson’s undeniably the more athletically talented team. It’s just a question of whether Alabama’s experience can win out.

A few years ago 49ers fans didn’t want to listen when I tried to tell them that Harbaugh, while undeniably a good coach, is not quite as good as he thinks he is, and that this was the reason he got his arrogant ass run out of the Bay. Not that I think the Yorks are the best owners, either, but the point is, Harbaugh is an arrogant ass and that having to listen to his shit day in and day out wears on people - not just upper management but his players, too. Let’s not forget that Colin Kaepernick was Harbaugh’s decision - his big experiment. I’ve always said - again over the objections of Niners nation - that the real reason that Harbaugh was forced out of San Fran was that he fired himself. He saw that the Kaepernick experiment was doomed to fail and he didn’t want to take the blame for it. He thought he could give the Yorks the finger by running off to Michigan and he was just sure he was going to compete for a national championship - let alone the BIG conference title. To date, he has yet to play in a conference title game. I wouldn’t be surprised if Harbaugh pulls a Lane Kiffin and goes down to some no-name school. At least he can’t fuck things up there.
Meanwhile…something about how the S-E-C is overrated and we shouldn’t have two schools from the same conference in the playoff.

The Harbaugh brothers are like the Ryan brothers…blustery, arrogant windbags that few people actually like. At least the 49ers went to the NFC champ game with Kaepernick, that’s not too shabby.
Totally agree. Though I did not have a [del]dog[/del] horse in the race, that’s got to be one the the best football games I have ever seen. Both teams played extremely well, and the winner could have been either one of them.
Dang. So close to a great bowl year, with the Big Ten on the verge of going 8-0 and the SEC laying to that point a magnificent egg. Then Harbaugh shits the bed and Oklahoma and Clemson both come up short. Oh well, college football is over and I’ll turn my attention to the Yankees.
