I’ve been following such events on this site, which is not quite the same - it’s specifically shootings, includes non-fatal injuries and isn’t limited to one attacker. The criteria are “FOUR or more shot and/or killed in a single event [incident], at the same general time and location, not including the shooter.”

By their criteria they’re up to 144 events this year, although many had no fatalities.

Yes I post over there with another name. I sort of disagree with the rules they use. I was interested in the number of mass killings carried out by non-gun means. Lo! Behold! There are actually quite a few non-gun mass killings. There are more arsons than you would think.

The person in your new number 5 isn’t charged with murder but manslaughter since he got his passengers killed while evading the police rather than deliberately killed anyone. Does intent not matter?

Murder, manslaughter, negligent homicide, I am including criminal acts. Trying to parse the various flavors of slaughter would complicate the task even further.

Read the bolded parts of the post you quoted. The obvious point was: why are you including shootings on your list after you say you aren’t counting them?
