This just popped up in my Boston Globe email notification. The headline of this paywalled story is:
R.I. family dead in West Greenwich triple-murder suicide, police say
Nicholas D. Arruda, 39, shot and killed his pregnant wife and their two children before killing himself, according to authorities
The story notes the wife was seven months pregnant. Also this: “Records show Nicholas Arruda was arrested by West Warwick Police and charged with felony assault while he was in a previous relationship in 2014. At the time, authorities seized a loaded rifle, ammunition, and hand grenades, but a judge eventually ordered the weapons to be returned to him in 2016, two years before the state’s “red flag” law went into effect.”

My former place of employ could so easily have been added to this list yesterday. I know well many of the decent folks that work there. Good people. Quiet community. I helped open that store and spent several years working there. The world is falling apart. Not sure why this is not getting any national coverage.
