The Guardian of Forever Someone must be telling me about the timelines of Star Trek Stars; I got Spock before and now, sadly, Uhura.
RIP Nichelle
Actress Pat Carroll dies at age 95.
That poor, unfortunate soul.

But I feel bad about it. She was awesome.

Of course, I took Nichelle Nichols off my list either last year or the one before.
Same.
I had Bill Russell on my themed list in years past. But not this year…
And still no Evil Politicians…
I’m delighted to get on the board with 29 points for Ayman al-Zawahiri.
Congratulations!
29 Points we can all appreciate!

Vin Scully, announcer for baseball, has died at 6 points.
Indiana Representative Republican Jackie Walorskihas died in an automobile accident at the age of 58.
Also killed in the accident were two of her staff members.
He passed away in July, but I did want to note the passing of Richard Taruskin, an absolute giant in the field of musicology. He was a man dedicated to challenging conventional wisdom at every step, often turning it completely on its head. His enormous book The Oxford History of Western Music is still a standard college text.
Anecdote: my wife once had a nice chat with him at a conference where they were sharing a table, not realizing who he was until she turned up to the next panel session and he was on it.
Well said!
