2024 NBA Playoffs

Clippers put up a sign outside the stadium trolling the Mavs telling them they could take flights from Dallas to Cancun. Instead the Mavs routed them by 30 points.

A guess, but that start time might depend on if a round 1 series goes 7.

My thoughts exactly. There are two series tonight featuring a game 6. If one or both of those go to Game 7, those games will likely be the prime time game(s) on Saturday, and would push the Nuggets/Wolves game to an earlier or later timeslot.

The series is already set. Game one is Saturday night. I would think that they would know what time to show up by now.

Both ESPN and nba.com are still showing the time as ‘TBD’.

Pacers stomped a mudhole in the Bucks in Game 6 to advance, and now we face our classic rivals, the New York Knicks, in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Hicks vs. Knicks again!

Brunson (Knicks) is the real deal. They have a solid bench, too. Love the smart passing and hustle plays, from Divencenzo, Hart, and others. Meanwhile, Mitchell Robinson does defensive maneuvers that don’t make the stat sheet, but are key. Lots of offensive rebounds.

Let’s hope New York fans don’t end up looking back on the year as “finally, we came THIS CLOSE to a championship…if only Randle had been healthy!” I doubt this is their last chance, though…plenty of puzzle pieces intact for the next few years, inshallah.

There will be no Game 7 tomorrow, as both series ended last night. There’s just one game scheduled for Saturday; Wolves/Nuggets Game 1 will start at 5:00 local time.

Finally, a time!

The Knicks only played two players off the bench in Game 6 vs. Philadelphia, and they combined to score 5 points.

The Pacers had at least 20 points each from backups TJ McConnell and Obi Toppin in Game 6 vs. Milwaukee.

Bolding mine. Those two played huge yesterday.

True! I guess I was just so impressed with all the little things that Robinson does (few of which make it to the stat sheet), I generalized for the whole Knicks bench.

As for the Sixers bench…Buddy Hield is fun to watch. Such a strange shot – kind of pushes the ball up from the lower chest area – but it usually gets results from long-range! It’s such a quick shot, it’s hard to defend, even though you’d think a tallish player could alter or block it.

Meanwhile, Tobias Harris on the last game of his 180 million contract with the horrendous 0 points in 30 minutes.

Yes, the most overpaid player in the NBA, obviously.
We call him “Toe Hair” (the first syllables in his first and last names).

Cavs and Magic will go to Game 7.

The Cavs’ Donavan Mitchell had 50 points — on a shaky knee! His creative, fearless inside moves reminded me of Allen Iverson’s.

But it wasn’t enough, and the young Magic won a close one. Paolo Banchero is maturing quickly.

Naz Reid (T-wolves) also has an odd shot from three point range. It’s like an old set shot, rather than a jumper.

This seems to happen a lot when one player goes on a binge. Everyone else just sort of stands around saying “Geez, look at that guy shoot!” I’ll take a well-rounded game any day.

That was my 13-year-old’s exact reaction as well. Iverson never won a title.

Well, this sucks. Bally North will no longer be included on Xfinity and is becoming a separate pay to play channel. The company is going bankrupt and no amount of negotiating by Xfinity has resulted in an agreement. Bally broadcasts NBA games, including Timberwolves games. Well, it’s not worth it to me to pay even more money just to watch some basketball, so fuck them. At least tonight’s 2nd round playoff game is going to be on TNT.

He had 18 points in the 4th quarter, the entire Cavs team had…18 points in the 4th quarter. Doesn’t matter how good one single player is if the rest of the team contributes literally nothing.
