2024 SDMB Celebrity Death Pool

So X(twitter) rumors are reporting that Telegram rumors are saying Igor Girkin is dead.

Yeah I guess I am going to need a better cite before claiming some points I will be very happy to take.

That would be going from 30th to 14th place.

Tom Cruise’s father in Risky Business - “I don’t remember giving you permission for a party, Joel.”

Not to mention this cultural touchstone

I can’t let the passing of my longest running celebrity crush (45 years!) go unacknowledged.

Nicholas Pryor was my guy from the first time I ever saw him, and I only enjoyed watching him more as time went on. For every one of his roles, even the silly and annoying ones, but especially for Eight Is Enough, Beverly Hills 90210 and Port Charles, thanks, Nick. I will miss you.

“Once. In Barcelona. There was gunfire.” - Victor Collins

Ethel Kennedy has died at 96.

Someone tell Junior not to eat her.

Or mount her head on his car.

Or embarrass her with weird-ass political views.

NoNoNo gets a unique pick with Ethel Kennedy.

Never mind. Ninjaed.

I didn’t know India had a group of massive tatas…

Thomas Rockwell, son of Norman Rockwell and author of children’s books, most notably “How to Eat Fried Worms”, dead at 91 from Parkinson’s.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/obituaries/2024/10/04/thomas-norman-rockwell-fried-worms/

I remember the book. I never made the connection.

I liked that book and read it more than once as a kid.

The cover of the version I had did sort of look Norman Rockwell-esque, but I doubt it was him. I can’t find a credit.

Neither did I until I found out he was dead. And last time I read the book (as an adult), it struck me how British-like a lot of the vernacular used was. The Rockwells were New Englanders, so it fits, but it seems to me that Norman’s work invoked more of a flyover country feel than New England.
