With Carr not able to start, I’m sure you’re right. Then if things don’t work out well at first, Carr can come back in later in the season as they give Shough some time. The Saints have options.
Open field running, pass catching and one of the best pass protecting RBs to come out in years. Him being able to be an elite 3rd down back and a plus blocker right out of the gates is invaluable.
He’s fast and elusive. He scores very well. He’s an immediate upgrade to any offense, I’d expect, even if he’s not a starting RB for them.
Damn, I suppose when we traded back there was no chance that he’d last, but Ezeiruaku was a really enticing option. Great pick for the Pokes.
Will Johnson finally off the board. He might be the steal of the draft so far if he can stay on the field.
Good pick for the Jets I think. Taylor has a chance to be a really good TE and they need it.
Yeah, that’s the thing. He’s a top player, first round grade, maybe top 5 player in the draft (I’ve heard that opinion at least) but only if he can avoid injury. He had a toe problem, then a hamstring, and now apparently there is a known knee problem that might not be an issue now but is expected to shorten his career. (Reminds me of Todd Gurley who was one of the best players in the NFL until he was suddenly done with a knee problem.)
He’s like Schrodinger’s Draft Pick. He’s simultaneously a steal and a waste, and you won’t be able to open that box until he actually plays.
I’m a little surprised that Fannin Jr is still there with so many TEs off the board.
And the Texans trade up to grab Ersery, another of my targets for the Bears. We’ve got two 2nd rounders left and there may not be anyone left!
Seattle on the clock. Tate Ratledge is still available. That’s who I hope Seattle gets. Just my personal pick.
Look at this guy!
He’s a throwback! I want that on my O line.
Also…teams must really not like Mike Green’s baggage. The Bears could use a guy like him, but basically no chance Warren and the McCaskeys greenlight him (ha!).
Edit: Is that Dan Feeney?
I wouldn’t mind Arroyo either, but I’d like another guard to feel comfortable.
Ah! I typed Arroyo and they must have heard me. Don’t hate it.
Another TE, not named Fannin. But I think this guys got the potential to be awesome. Of the potential to be Kyle Pitts.
When the Rams drafted Ferguson at TE, the biggest criticism I saw was that Arroyo was still available. Not that Ferguson is bad, he is slippery and can get TDs and first downs well, but overall Arroyo was favored by a lot of people. I’m happy they got a solid receiver of some kind, one with good value at that spot.
ETA: I think it’s only fair to mention that Arroyo has had knee issues as well, but it was an ACL 3 years ago, rather than a series of injuries dealt with over a period of time. So I get why he didn’t go earlier despite his talent, but I don’t think he’s that much of a risk.
Looking ahead to the Bears next pick. Not sure if we’ll go this way considering we signed Drew Dalman this offseason, but Jared Wilson is a hell of a talent here. Not sure how well he projects as an OG but love the athleticism from an IOL.
McDaniels does love a pass-catching 3rd down back who can block, for sure. His fingerprints are all over that pick. He had great success in NE developing those types of players in the glory years. Sounds good to me.
Really liking the Chargers draft so far. Harbaugh wants to play some bully ball.
Bears on the clock, I have no idea what direction to go here. I think we’ve found the talent cliff in the draft here. The best players left all seem to be WRs which we already hit.
OK, grabbing a OT. Don’t know much about this guy, but he’s a monster.
Just thinking about Caleb throwing over a 6’8" OT is a little worrisome, lol. Definitely going to require some long term investment, much like Amegadjie. Hopefully one of the two will become a star in a few years.
There he goes to the Lions. Little bit of a surprise they go back to the OL, but the dude definitely has Dan Campbell energy.
LOL, that he does!
Bears coming back on the clock in a few picks, definitely feels like it’s time to pull the trigger on Kaleb.
Mike Green to the Ravens is so hilariously apt. Will probably end up being a Pro Bowler for them if he stays out of jail.
