2025 NFL Draft Thread

Kaleb Johnson or Landon Jackson are the hope here…could use a DT, but I don’t love the options here. Need a Safety or Will LB too.

Edit: Shermar Turner, DT, Texas A&M. Guess the Bears liked the DT options better than me. He could be a little undersized to play inside, might be a tweener. Wonder if he plays outside for us in some rotations. Injury concerns, but a high motor (maybe too high).

Fannin to Browns!

Starting the 3rd round, let’s see how many of those “Best Available” guys are still on the board.

2025 NFL Draft best available:

1. Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
2. Mike Green, Edge, Marshall
3. Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri
4. Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina

5. Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina
6. Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
7. Donovan Ezeiruaku, edge, Boston College
8. Nic Scourton, edge, Texas A&M

9. Azareye’h Thomas, CB, Florida State
10. Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State
11. Jonah Savaiinaea, OL, Arizona
12. TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State
13. Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss
14. Jayden Higgins, WR, Iowa State

15. Darius Alexander, DT, Toledo
16. Aireontae Ersery, OL, Minnesota
17. Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame
18. Alijah Arroyo, TE, Miami

19. Landon Jackson, edge, Arkansas
20. Xavier Watts, S, Notre Dame

Alexander comes off with the first pick in the 3rd.

And Fannin Jr. finally gets picked up by his local team the Browns.

The Bears won’t be back on the clock until tomorrow morning barring a trade. We still need to figure something out at running back, we’ll see if any of the next tier of guys hang around. Definitely a few fun options even if Kaleb gets picked tonight.

The one good thing is that this is a deep RB draft. There’s still a chance of finding someone decent at that spot for any team still looking.

As a Commanders fan, I’m pretty happy with this pick.

WR Kyle Williams off the board a little earlier than I expected. The 49ers had him in for one of their 30 visits. A wideout with that band would have been very triggering for Niner Nation.

I don’t quite get the Giants pick. Maybe they thought he was the best available. I think they have more pressing needs than the defensive line at this point.

The Lions burned two 2026 3rd round picks to go up and get TeSlaa, a guy with a 5th round grade. Kind of wild. Interesting player, but here’s to hoping they regret that move.

The Pats are coming up on their second 3rd round selection. Feels like they’ve got to go defense with this one after three (badly needed) picks on the offensive side.

ETA: Or trade down for more draft capital, which is probably what Belichick would have done.

ETA again: And they DID trade down!

Trade details: Pats drop 8 spots down in the 3rd and gain a 5th round selection from the Panthers. They now have 3 fifth round picks tomorrow.

Jaylin Noel to the Texans. I was hoping he might be available at 92 when Seattle picks but oh well.

Still hoping to see a guard this round.

Steelers pick Kaleb Johnson. Really good RB pick (sorry @Omniscient) but no QB. Still curious what their plans are at that position.

If Seattle was going to draft a QB, I’m glad it’s Milroe. Good developmental QB of the future and Seattle doesn’t need him right away.

But did not expect that!

I’m thoroughly entertained by the Sanders drop. Partly because of Deion and partly because of Mel, them crashing out is peak.

I actually really like Will Howard, if he comes off the board next it’ll be the highlight of the weekend.

I’m trying to follow along, but I’m out of town with family°. 49ers tripling up on the defensive front. Which is what we’ve been wanting then to do, but Kyle wants his toys. That said, a speedy WR or versatile TE wouldn’t be terrible at #100, but I’d like Georgia C Jared Wilson if he’s there.

°: I’m attending a funeral. The last time I was at a funeral during a draft, the Niners picked Patrick Willis.

Edit: How many teams took Shedeur of their boards entirely?

Had to put my kid to bed so I stepped away for a bit. Catching up a little, I’m amazed that Pat Bryant got drafted this early. I think he deserves it, his tape is incredible, but his Combine numbers were terrible. I was kind of hoping the Bears could steal him as like a 6th round gem.

Definitely bummed that Kaleb is gone and him going to the Steelers is another incredibly logical landing spot. In a draft filled with teams doing the most stereotypical thing the Steelers taking Kaleb is natural.

And holy crap, Dillon Gabriel gets picked BY THE BROWNS before Sanders. Worldstar!

Now Dillon Gabriel goes to the Browns. I watched him a lot (since he was the Ducks QB) and he has potential in the NFL. But clearly nobody wants to touch Sanders.

I’m just here to see how far the plunge continues..

OK, the Patriots draft is starting to look incredible. I’m jealous.

I’m sure it won’t happen, but I kind of want the Bears to draft Will Howard as a backup. I loved how he threw at the Combine. With all the media drama it won’t happen, and at this pace he won’t last until the 5th or 6th round.

I just HAD to put it in writing, didn’t I?
