2026 Celebrity Death Pool

Cute little stories, couple of laughs here and there. I only knew him from the Letterman show.

I’m trying to think of who he reminded me of. There are other celebs out there who mainly just have connections to bigger celebrities and tell stories about them, especially in the 80s and 90s.

Can’t think of who, though.

I used to know / still know a lot of Chicago area comedians from around the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Today on social media they are universal with their praise and adoration for Dreesen. Many knew him personally.

Whatever you thought of his act, he’s widely regarded as an important mentor to a generation of comics, as well as a really good guy.

Never mind.

Actor Paul Avery, who appeared in the 1978 Superman movie, as well as the soap opera All My Children, has died in a house fire. Also killed was his wife, Sheila.

No age or date of birth given. He wasn’t a hugely successful actor, but he has his own IMDb page, so I included him.

Hip Hop producer Tay Keith, dead at 29.

RIP to the one of the oldest trees in the world:

That’s an interesting coincidence. I saw a YouTube video just a couple of days ago that referred to that tree.

Can’t think of a better more successful TV director and producer.

Rick Kogan of the Chicago Tribune wrote an article about him. Here’s a link to a non-paywalled version of the article:

Israeli kinetic artist Yaakov Agam passed away today at 97:

You probably know his art: abstract, multicolored works that change appearance based on the angle of view. He was big in the 1970s.

Not a true celebrity, but nonetheless famous because of his longevity.

According to the article, he became the oldest living man in the US in December of 2024. Now, that title belongs to 111-year-old Ed Martin of Lehigh Acres, Florida.

Alan Greenspan will be fed no more.

100 years old. Nobody gets any points.

That feels ironic in a way I can’t quite define.

Typical Greenspan, keeping the rate of return as low as possible.

RollOutTheBarrel gets on the board with a pointless unique pick (Alan Greenspan). Also, Hatchie scores 9 points on this guy.

Legendary music executive Clive Davis has died at 94.

David Clayton-Thomas of Blood Sweat & Tears has stopped spinning that wheel at 84.

There’s gonna be one child born in this world to carry on.
