I was just thinking that. About the cheese. And how 24 is like cheese, in that they both taste good.
So it makes sense.
Cheese.

Broadcasts of season 2 of 24 begin next week, so I thought this would be a good time to do a test run of our plan (described above) to start pre-emptive spoiler threads in order to facilitate discussion and (try to) prevent silly thread titles like So-and-so’s the 3rd mole on 24! OMG!!! from spoiling things.
For myself, I’m only through disk 1 of season 1 in watching them on DVD, so I’ve still got the bulk of it ahead of me. Again. Whatever.
I spent the weekend painting my dining room, so don’t ask too much.
Well, I’m not going to be waiting…I just can’t.
However, much like I did at the end of last season, I shall watch all of the episodes in one 24 hour block.
I will be careful not to mention any spoilers in titles.

Updating the list of related threads:
I’m wondering if this thread title might be a tad confusing this season. I mean, we had problems last year with people posting spoilers in a thread entitled "Please Don’t Discuss ‘24’ With Me’.
Just a suggestion from one incredibly moldy grande frommage.
Yeah, I’ve thought of that. Especially with new people and what not who might not remember the original thread. I’ll e-mail a mod or two and see what we can do. I don’t want to lock it off, 'cause we still need a place to congregate, commiserate, and flatulate.
Maybe I can just get someone to edit the OP and add in big red letters: “THIS IS THE NO-SPOILERS THREAD! PLEASE DO NOT POST SPOILERS IN THIS THREAD! WON’T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!?!”
Booyah! Guess who got his VCR working, just in time for the second tape?
I’m back in, baby!*
*Pending the existance of a non-existant first tape. KTK, you got my back?
I’m all over it like a cheap suit.
As a matter of fact, I’ll be dropping you and Montfort an e-mail any day now.

24 Season 1 Question
“24” Season 2, Episode 7 - 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (OP includes links to earlier episodes discussed)
KTK, did you get my e-mail from last night? Jus’ wondering.
By the way, I got the link from this thread from the Episode 7 thread - nice links!
So, can we talk about not watching “24” today? The comfort I felt waiting for Smallville to come on, and hearing the whir of the VCR… Felt like Christmas.
Just did, yep. You’ve got mail!
Muchas gracias. Seemed like a handy way to avoid having to update this thread every week. If it were possible to search for “24,” of course, I wouldn’t bother keeping up with it so closely, but … I guess with great power comes great responsibility.
After being without power for a while last week, I’d have to say I know that “thank God it’s working” feeling pretty well. For me, and for a few weeks yet, it’s liable to be associated with everything from the VCR and cable box to the fridge, the washing machine, the little clock on my coffee maker, and last but not least: the light in the bathroom. When the lights go out, you realize how easy it is to poop in the dark and how hard it is to wipe up.
Thread title amended at OP’s request.
So’s I was thinking this weekend. Once all is said and done at the end of this season of 24, I’m going to have 48 hours of show on tape. And since season two starts at 8:00am, that gives me 8 hours of sleep…
As a Mac I used to work with once said, “Eep!”
Hey, was there a new episode last week, or do I have some crapfest FOX special on my tape in my VCR at home*?
[sub]*If anyone can fit more prepositional phrases in there, lemme know.[/sub]
Nope, according to my sources, 24 is on holiday hiatus until January 7. Breathe easy, big guy. And rewind!
Saw a commercial last night that there’s a brand new episode tonight. I’m checking fox.com - wish me luck.
Nope. Last episode we should have is 3:00-4:00, and there’s nothing tonight. Nothing but lies, I tell you, lies.
So, in keeping with not talking about 24, I have a question about 24:I. KTK, do you have the DVD set? Is it worth it? How’s the alternate ending?
Anyone?
I do indeed have the DVD set, and am steadily working my way through it, so I can’t tell you about the alternate ending (endings?) yet. I’m sure someone will oblige.
For the episodes I’ve seen (I think I’m up to about 11:00 a.m.), the set is wonderful and well worth the money, if only so that you don’t have to fast forward through commercials.
Personally, I can’t justify spending the $45.99 (at Target) for the 24 box set because I can’t see myself watching it more than once. If I budget my time and pick my renting days carefully, I can see the whole thing for about $12-$15 at Blockbuster.
You might want to try eBay–you can find a lot of used copies in the $30 range, or you could even buy the box set and later sell it–it seems to be in demand, so you’d probably get a good price for it.
