In the “Is your birthday a Big Deal to you?” thread, I posted that the first day of September always makes me quietly happy because it’s the start of my birthday month. So…yay!
Why oh why do some of my neighbors feel compelled to frequently burn things outside?? The only downside to nice weather and having the windows open is that I never know when I’ll suddenly smell smoke…and I do not like the smell of smoke inside my house. I don’t begrudge anyone their fire pit or the right to burn trash or whatever the hell is going on, but it’s not like we live in the country: the houses here are close enough together that the smoke from any back yard fire will impact several neighbors. At least this morning’s incursion only lasted a few minutes.
On a happier note, I’m not working today. It’s good to have one more day of sloth after last week’s funeral and trip to NJ, and also now in the face of Bailey’s IDB diagnosis. I found a support group on FB that has already been helpful, and it’s nice to get to spend one more day at home with the doggy while I continue to read those posts and Google random info. Speaking of whom, the stupid dog never ate her breakfast – which means she hasn’t gotten her meds – so I’ll have to offer her some Pill Pockets and fresh food the next time she wakes up. If it turns out she doesn’t like the new food, I’ll need to try one of the other prescription brands. It could be an expensive month or so, on top of the $1100 I just spent on her. Good thing she’s cute.
Lunch just got delivered: I had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for the turkey sandwich that I often get from Wegman’s when I work from home, so I had Instacart bring me one (and a few other things). I’ll eat half of it now, and bring the other half to work tomorrow. Time to start my laundry, then relocate to the living room and eat while I binge-watch more Elementary: the next book in a series I like is being released tomorrow, and the next book in another series I like is being released next month, so I need to do some serious TV-watching today before I start reading!
One of my earliest crushes was on Larry Wilcox (Officer Jon Baker).
I hope the tip was commensurate!
Aww, I’m so sorry.
I would have given you the Lego set.
Ha!
