They pulled of yet another hilarious episode, and let me tell you why…cajun style!
As great as Alec Baldwin is on this show, I think the secondary story of Jenna and Tracy vying for attention from Liz was better, and even the normally-throwaway Frank-Toofer feud managed to keep the funny going (I even like the way it naturally petered out–and no I’m not talking about the Harvard pin on Frank’s fly). Though overall, I think the CC/Jack romance had the best payoff in the executive lunchroom scene; I laughed out loud when the first executive tentatively stood to admit “I gave to NPR last year”.
I’m also amazed yet again at how much effort the show puts into what would noramlly be quick sight-gags. The five second clip of the Tracy/Shaq animated project was exactly the kind of silly, dime-store animation I remember from bad children’s cartoons. The Shaq character’s quote about “slam-dunks” was priceless; if someone could post the full text of the clip, I’d appreciate it.
Any other thoughts? If this isn’t the funniest show on TV right now (“The Office” is a close second), I don’t know what is.
