One of the plots was about Tracy Jordan making offensive remarks to gays and the ensuing protests.
Personally I thought it was a major misfire, one reason being that the jokes Tracy Jordan tells in the episode aren’t nearly as offensive as the ones Tracy Morgan told (“gay people should stare at their own junk all day” v. “if my son was gay I’d kill him”). Also, Tracy Morgan isn’t funny when he’s got good material, and when he’s just playing a parody of himself not being apologetic for something you know damned good and well he wasn’t apologetic for in real life it falls flat.
Mainly though I just think the show has jumped the shark and now needs to jump on a grenade if that will help save Community. The moment you see Liz is dating a caring guy played by James Marsden you know that something is going to be wrong with him, you know that Kenneth is going to be a psychotically naive hillbilly and Jenna’s going to be an amoral narcissist, etc., rinse later repeat.
In fairness, I’ll admit I’m interested to see how Kelsey Grammer is going to work into the plot (it’s a two parter).
