We’ve had four M4.0+ within 30 miles of Tokyo in the past 24 hours.
Quakes are nothing new. I was born and raised in the SGV. 
Not felt here in Carson, and probably not in Long Beach.
SFV, and I felt it. It wasn’t huge. But, I was playing the final level of Diablo 3 at the time, and it was… effective.
Didn’t feel a thing further inland. It takes more than a 4.0 to make me notice.
4.0 is just strong enuf to stir the coffee.

Likewise. I thought it was an earthquake, but wasn’t sure. I asked my wife if she’d jostled the bed, and she said no, she thought that I had. Turned on the news, and they didn’t say anything about it, so I forgot about it.
One of the briefest shakings I’ve ever felt in a quake.
