Nothing like 4 home runs in 10 pitches to turn a game around. Go, Red Sox! Yankees blow!
Woohoo! Go Red Sox! Yankees suck, Jeter swallows
…diagonally?
I edited the title to make it more descriptive.
Thank you, Skip. But you lose 5 twee points for not weighing in against the Yankees.
My poor neighbors. I made a lot of noise that inning.
Oh look, a premature celebration thread. 5-4 Yankees as I get ready to call it a night.
Oh look, a three run homer. 7-5 Sox.
It’s April.
What’s your point? This is Yankees-Red Sox, months are meaningless. I was at Saturday’s game, saw the Sox match the Yankees in the first two innings, then a fine Ortiz HR, and Little Papi coming in for a fine save, and that was the most mundane game of the series.
Life is good.
I just got back from Fenway. Dice-K was so-so but finally got some run support. I was on the Green Monster just above Johnny “Satan” Damon. Manny hit a HR right over my head… gonna check SportsCenter and see if I can spot myself…
There was classic abuse from the rowdies in the stands. Gotta think that JD had to consider this when he signed on with the hated Yankees.
…oh yeah, and GO SOX!
(Saw Baseball Tonight and I think I saw myself for a split second. I was wearing a crimson Harvard sweatshirt and I think I caught a glimpse as the camera followed the ball over the monster… sweeeeet!)
That was such a good game tonight. I love the Sox’, but I understand that the rest of the states might equate them as the enemy. All the same, this was a great baseball series. Great pitching, great hitting, great rivalries. And the Red Sox swept in their own small stadium. Gah, I’m so happy.
Enjoy it, it is a long season and Wright is a AA pitcher that was only up due to the many injuries on the staff.
While I’m not really a Sox fan, I’m always happy to see the Yankees lose.
BTW, what was up with the green uniforms Friday night?
Bah. It’s April and the Sox aren’t into full choking mode yet. Besides, they aren’t due to win another World Series until 2090.
A tribute to Red Auerbach, of Celtics fame.
Did they just pull out their spring training St. Patrick’s Day uniforms?
I think so. Don’t they usually wear the green uni’s on the first home game against the Yankees? I thought they’d done that before.
I think the Yankees pretty much redefined full choking mode a few years ago, don’t you?
I was telling my girlfriend when I first saw Chase Wright pitching – Manny is going to KILL this guy. He had that same left-handed junk on which Ramirez usually tees off. Even though the Red Sox hitters looked iffy the first time around, they really handled this kid. “Welcome to the majors, Mr. Wright!”
And they left him in to face Willy Mo Pena!
I predicted either a 600 foot blast or a bad strikeout (he swings at everything, and as hard as he can, every time).
