I know it blindsided the hell out of me.
GREAT line by Nick in the beginning though.
“Good, that will help me to distinguish it from all the other severed heads I may find out here.”
This episode was very pun heavy… I guess they were trying to keep it fairly ‘light’ due to the backstory with Brass, or perhaps show that the team was dealing with that with a little humor for themselves…
As for the pairing, I completely agree that His choice should be Lady Heather, but clearly her choice has always been him… and he’s a bit vulnarable right now.
In the end, this will be bad for both…(If it actually went the way the cliffhanger wants us to think)… she is very unstable and he is way too ‘analytical’ with his feelings (asking the Doctor for the odds, and then coldly/quickly making a decision)…I’ve always figured that if there was a charactor to go postal, it would be SS.
Well, they’ve been hinting at the attraction between the two for several seasons, so it wasn’t any big surprise. They’ve downplayed it this year, but there was the episode some time back where Grissom talked to Kyle Secor and was really talking about his own missed chance with Sarah.
I also think Lady Heather is too pissed at Grissom right now to go near him.
Yeah, unfortuantely.
I just don’t like this Gil/Sara thing. I’d rather none of the CSI-ers get involved with each other. Besides, I don’t want this relationship to take away from the other characters. We barely saw Greg this episode as it was.
I’ll still be there when the new season starts, but I won’t like it.
I ** think ** the reason Greg wasn’t more featured in this episode was another story was also filmed (or atleast rumored) involving another of the team members… and he was heavily involved in those scenes.
Gil and Sara were giving each other such significant looks at the end of an earlier episode that my wife and I knew that this was coming. Bad idea. I can’t believe that Gil Grissom would bed a direct report. Stupid for anyone to do so; impossible for him.
Did anyone else go back and flip frame by frame through the too-fast-to-be-seen re-creation of the diabetic’s death? If so, you would have noticed that there were two hookers in the room and the one that later had no fingerprints on the champagne was swigging straight from the bottle. I get the feeling that they changed the script or cut out a scene or two to beef up the rest. Usually when the first re-creation is wrong, they show a more accurate one later in the episode.
I never thought I’d use the phrases “CSI” and “benefit of a doubt” in the same sentence, but really, this is not a show-killer. Since it looks like I was wrong and Gil and Sara were together before this episode, I guess the writers can handle an off-screen relationship. Compared to the Cath-drama that has gone on and is sure to continue, meaningful glances and personal space violations are not even soap opera territory, let alone jumping the shark.
Getting back to this episode:
There was a scene where Brass’s heart stopped and the doc brought it back using paddles. Aren’t those supposed to be effective only for fibrillation? (Inaccurate science in CSI? There’s a shocker.)
I totally called the corset at first sight of the corpse. (Hi, Stonebow! )
They should have concentrated on that case and dropped the B plot altogether.
And I was sure Brass was toast in the Code Blue scene, but very happy to be proved wrong, 'cause PG rocks and Louise Lombard is no substitute.
**Snooooopy ** beat me to it - I thought Lady Heather was in jail?
Also - in past episodes was it hinted that there was a flirtation, maybe more, between Willows and Warrick? She seemed pissed when he announced that he had gotten married.
One would assume, but IIRC they just ended that episode without her showing actually being arrested.
Still, I kept saying “Lady Heather” the whole time the camera was panning around the room. Then Sara shows up. Bleh. And I agree that boy scout Grissom would never break so obvioius a regulation.
Oh, I didn’t see this thread when I responded to the other thread. My opinion on the pairing was that they had been seeing each other for awhile. They seemed too comfortable being together and chatting for it to have been a first time. When the camera panned to her, I squealed “They did it!”, and my fella said, “Uh…It looks like they *have * been doing it” Did anyone else get that impression?
They didn’t even mention her this time. I wanted some follow up…was she really planning his birthday party, or did she come up with a good cover story in case she got caught? And did he move out?
