Hey, I liked Perfect Strangers!
My main complaint about Friends, which admittedly I rarely watched, was how the ass-ugly Chandler and Joey were somehow treated as if they were hot.

Damn right!
1.Full House
2.Friends
3.I Love Lucy
4.Gilligan’s Island
5.Full House
Joey
Blossom
Frasier - Started strong, but then faded into mediocrity
Becker
Will and Grace - How many gay stereotypes and cliches can one fit in a 30 minute episode? Tune in next week to find out!
I don’t watch enough TV to think of 5, but I despise The War At Home. I’ve had the TV on a few Sunday nights when I’ve been cleaning and that show’s been on. Unfunny, with whiny, annoying characters. The guy who plays the dad is possibly one of the worst actors I’ve ever seen.
This many threads and no one has brought up Joanie Loves Chachi or My Two Dads?
My other 3 are:
Threes Company
Laverne and Shirley
Hello Larry
Some of my favorite shows are mentioned as hated - whew, what a crowd.
Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, Malcolm in the Middle, Ab Fab, The Gary Shandling Show, and MASH are all comedies I enjoy.
My dislikes:
The Jeffersons
Good Times - I won’t drink Kool Aid to this day!
Charles in Charge
Alf
Girlfriends
Gilligan’s Island
Three’s Company
Limiting this to sitcoms of which I have some direct knowledge.
Every sitcom from the '60s except The Dick Van Dyke Show and the Addams Family. (And Addams Family gets a pass for style; the writing was pretty lame.) Yes, that includes Get Smart.
Silver Spoons
Diff’rent Strokes
Webster
(Yes, bitter child of the '80s checking in here)
(I’ve never watched a complete episode of Full House, but that’s in a league of suck all its own.)
Definitely Seinfeld. And Will and Grace. And Friends. Gilligan’s Island sucks so bad that it actually pulled the knobs off the TVs across the country.
*Frasier * has been flailing around like the back end of a worm that’s been cut in half and doesn’t know that it’s supposed to be dead. Please don’t tell me it’s still on.
I have to disagree entirely with the idea that All in the Family should be anywhere near a list of worst sitcoms. That show got into so many topics that aren’t funny, but are entirely serious - crime, racism, xenophobia, on and on. At times, it was more like a drama that had an accidental laugh tossed in. Not necessarily a bad thing. Another show that’s in this category was Good Times. I don’t particulary care for either show, but both deserve to be recognized for the straightforward, well-written and honest way they handled touchy issues.
What about the glurgefest that was Family Affair? You know (but were probably trying to forget) – Buffy, Jody, Cissy, Mr. French and Uncle Bill? It was a hit at the time but I think there’s a reason why you don’t see it brought back like some of the other late '60s sitcoms.
And I’ve seen the word “purile” used at least twice in this thread by different people. It’s not a word, folks. I think you mean “puerile”. (Sorry, one of those things that bugs me.)
Obviously you missed the series finale and its attendant hype a couple of years ago.
Burrido: As has been pointed out, Walker, Texas Ranger was a drama. Did you mean to type The Texas Wheelers?
5 - Diff’rent Strokes
4 - Who’s the Boss?
3 - Home Improvement
2 - the show with Kirk Cameron on it
1 - Good Morning Miami
Ha! That’s what y’all think! In fact, Walker, Texas Ranger is the most subtle comedy ever perpetrated on the American viewing public.
These shows bring out my inner misanthrope:
Friends
Perfect Strangers
Cheers
Step by Step
Blossom
The Brady Bunch
The Partridge Family
Full House
Who’s the Boss?
Small Wonder
55 responses and no Family Matters?
In no particular order:
Family Matters
Full House
Three’s Company
Will and Grace
Step by Step
It might say something about me that I used to watch three of these shows religiously. However, they now make me want to smash my TV set. Can I be absolved of my bad TV taste? I was only a kid!
My two cents:
Gilligan’s Island
Who’s the Boss
Beverly Hillbillies
Roseanne
Golden Glirls
My favorite aged sitcom: F-Troup. 'Specially the one with Milton Berle!
Heh.
Can’t remember the name of the show, but the family name was The Seavers and it had Alan Thicke in it had some teen heartthrob kid.
That would be Growing Pains. Truly the nadir of civilization as we know it. Kirk Cameron has gone on to bigger and better things, of course.
Saved by the Bell
Three’s Company
Mama’s Family (though the skits on Carol Burnett were hysterical)
