No, she stood and applauded.
The last time Meryl Streep won an Oscar Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister.
Again yeah Meryl - she rocks.
She was doing the only good part of her Steven Spielberg impression.
Yay for Meryl!! Loved Viola too and would have been reasonably happy if she’d won, but Meryl Streep was unbelievable, one of the best performances I can remember seeing. Loved her!
Naw, all the women stood up. To clap.
Meryl is fantastic, but I do wish Viola had won. She was brilliant.
Meryl is a class act. Always.
Was hoping it would go to Michelle but that was a good speech.
It would be funny if someone hacked into the scoring and made Tree of Life the winner.
Hate Tommy as choice to present best film - he sucks.
Longest shot for Best Pic? War Horse, maybe?
“In the news tonight, War Horse wins Best Picture in a stunning upset. Also: Steven Spielberg is mysteriously one-half billion dollars poorer.”
saw that coming!
Best pic sucks!
Whoa, liked the film but didn’t see that coming at all.
Saw it, but didn’t hear it coming…
Aw, all she really gave away was that he says two words at the end, right? Could be that he’s finally in front of the cameras to film his first talkie and stammers “I can’t” before walking off in defeat. Or he slumps to the floor after shouting “My heart!” Or he turns to his leading lady and says “Marry me.” How much did she really spoil?
Wow, if Hugo couldn’t win, I’m glad The Artist did! It was really hard to not love that film.
So happy for The Artist! It’s an odd, unusual winner, and good for The Academy members who voted for it!
