No tribute to musicals is complete without Russell Crowe!
So. A skinny girl CAN sing that “You’re gonna love me” song. Huh.
because she was in it?
Okay, I’m not a Dreamgirls fan (the stage show that is, I haven’t seen the movie) but that was freaking awesome!
Oh shit, I literally almost choked on my drink laughing. A+
wow, samantha barks looks gorgeous.
I have to say, I’m very happy that the trend of Horrible High Hair on the women seems to be blessedly over.
Now would be an awesome time for Hugh Jackman to shwing! his Wolverine claws.
Russel Crowe ain’t the same without his Cap’n Crunch outfit.
What a godawful mess that Les Miz number was. And Samantha Barks stole Angelina Jolie’s one-legged dress! Jim Rash, get her!
I can’t believe Colm Wilkinson wasn’t there.
(That’s what happens when film people try to sing an admittedly difficult song live on stage with no retakes. Tempo, people, tempo!)
I am so excited for “Oz The Great and Powerful”.
This is a tribute to movie musicals, not movie cereals.
Silly rabbit!
I’m not sure why we were treated to numbers from old films (“Chicago” and “Dream Girls”) but at least it demonstrated the difference between someone lip synching a song and someone singing a song.
The “Les Miserables” number was good. So much better than anything in the film even though it was the same people singing the same stuff.
Indeed. One of my complaints (and there were several) of Les Miz is that Samantha Barks’ character was orders of magnitude more appealing than Cosette in just about every way.
Might help if the orchestra wasn’t blocks away.
I brushed my teeth and shaved! Did I miss anything?
I know she was in it and i knew it was nominated years ago but I was wondering why it ws included today as I missed the intro into what the segment was. It wasn’t snark it was confusion as to what was happening…I now know it was the ‘musicals’ tribute section.
Wtf? Couldn’t they have played the theme to the original Star Trek, or at least Giachinno’s version?
