87th Academy Awards viewing thread

Yes. Those were they days, when they honored film and filmmakers.

Sienna Miller & Chris Pratt present Sound Awards

Whiplash wins Sound Mixing.

Sound Editing - American Sniper

American Sniper takes the sound editing Oscar! Yeah, that’ll show those liberal Hollywood elites that look down on our American heroes! The, um, same Hollywood elites that actually funded and created the movie, of course …

Jared Leto presents Best Supporting Actress. Patricia Arquette will win YAY!

Maybe Interstellar is going to be left out in the cold.

I liked the Meryl Streep quip from Jared Leto.

Not to mention It’s Your Move before Valerie.

Patricia Arquette wins. YAY!

Thanks Zipper JJ!

I’m not normally a big Arquette fan, and Patricia is usually at the bottom of the four of them, but she just shot to the top of the list.

I liked the Leto/Streep joke too.

Even if Boyhood doesn’t win anything else (though I’m hoping for Director) I’m glad about Patricia.

Glad PA won, but could someone please comb her hair?

I heard some people aged 12 years just sitting through Boyhood. Hey-yo! I kid, I kid! But it’s tough for me to sit through 3 hour movies any more. I couldn’t even make it through Titanic without a trip to the little boys’ room.

Good for her for taking a stand, though.

Peeta Melark introduces somebody singing some song from some movie.

Glad I’m not the only one who just calls him Peeta. I know he has a brother but I’m not entirely sure of their last name, their first names, or which is which.

Chole Grace Moretz & Ansel I forget presents Visual Effects (all great nominees!): Interstellar!

Chloe needed to find something to do with her hands.

Also, was it creepy to anyone else that the band played “Endless Love” as she and Ansel came out?

Kevin Hart & Anna Kendrick presents Best Animated Short. I want A single Life to win, but either Feast or Dam Keeper will win.

Feast wins. It was lovely.

Anna Kendrick is just a doll. And was the Animated Short “joke” the only reason to have Kevin Hart at the Oscars? I mean, I don’t see him getting a nomination anytime soon.

(Yeah, I know, Carrell, Keaton, etc, etc, I don’t know nuthing)

Man, I thought for sure it would be Dam Builder.
