A bit over confident are we Hillary?

Talk about counting your chickens before they hatch. The Clinton Presidential compound is a bit premature. LOL. I think they rent a house in The Hamptons too.

I recall a photo of Romney pumping his own gas a couple days after losing. No entourage. No secret service. He was just a regular citizen.

When you’re worth as much as the Clintons, buying an extra $1.2M house is like you or me buying a back-up generator for our house.

Sigh.

Acey old boy, as per usual, you miss the point. Nothing in this story has anything to do with whether she wins in November or not, other than the throw-in line by CNN about making it easier for the Secret Service. Oh, hey, by the way, you may not know this, but her husband is a former POTUS, so the Secret Service will be around no matter what happens in November.

So, yeah.

Plus, we can be sure that they’ll continue raking in cash regardless of whether she wins or loses.

Cracked did a great article on how a Presidential election loss can be soul crushing. The candidates are often so isolated that they aren’t aware the loss is coming. Romney got blindsided. All his inner circle had portrayed such confidence around him.

Same thing is happening with Trump and Clinton. All the butt kissers and leeches in their entourage have them believing they can’t possibly lose.

I guess the Clintons will find something to do with the extra house if things don’t go well in Nov. They’ll still have a very small secret service detail for the rest of their lives.

Maybe if someone got their hands on a copy of the U-Haul reservation that is scheduled to drop off at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington, DC, for “Clinton, H” on January 20, 2017, you might have a point. The fact that it’s a story about the Clintons buying a property next to their home in Chappaqua, you don’t.

They’ve done just fine with the single 5,300 sq ft house since Bill left office. Along with the exclusive Hamptons Rental they live extremely well.

Now they’re creating a large Presidential Compound in anticipation of Hillary’s win. That’s fine. Its nice being rich. Nearly every President had one. Nixon had the Western White House, La Casa Pacifica. Bush 1 had The Bush Compound on Walker’s Point, Kennebunkport Maine. Bush 2 had the Crawford Ranch.

You do realize, that even without Hillary’s win in November, they could create a “presidential compound?” Why do you think this would only be possible should Hillary win? Why is this an example of Hillary’s “over confidence?”

Yes, indeed. Don’t you just love America?

Why would a elderly couple in semi retirement need a huge compound? Most seniors down size. Not up size.

It only makes sense if you consider a 8 year Hillary Presidency. They will need room for a huge Security Detail and privacy from reporters. I’m not criticizing them. They think they’ll win and are making big plans.

If she loses then I’d guess they’ll fade from public life. Enjoy their Golden years in peace. Except for an occasional public appearance for the Clinton Foundation.

Maybe the house next door is blocking their view and they want to tear it down?

Maybe they’re going to give to Chelsea and her family?

Maybe they want to use it for their staff housing?

Maybe they think it’s a good investment?

Maybe they’re tired of the neighbors and the neighbors’ all night ravers?

Maybe they want more room for their nudist colony?

Maybe they just want to see all the right-wingers do their nut about it?

What about Hillary’s public life leads you to conclude she’s semi-retired? Does she look like she’s got nothing but time on her hands?

I believe they’ll find a room or two for her in the White House.

I hear Boca is nice.

This really has no application to the Clintons. They are not “most” elderly couples. No matter what happens in Nov, they will have need of privacy and security.

It makes sense either way. They have millions of dollars. They are on a cul-de-sac with one other house. The house became available. Of course they are going to buy that house. Almost any millionaire couple would have done the same thing.

Wrong again. Even if she loses in November, both she and Bill will be very visible and active in world charities. Eventually one or both of them will cut back when health forces them to, but it will not happen in November. Democrat POTUS’ do not fade away after their term, they stay active in politics and doing good.

Quit acting like you didn’t mean this thread to be snarky shot at the Clintons. Of course you did, your thread title shows that.

The Clintons are no not “most seniors.”

Buying a house in New York is evidence of how confident she is she’ll get a new job in Washington DC?

A bit over confident are we aceplace57?

I’m just looking at past losers. Dukakis, Bob Dole, Al Gore, Romney. They all quietly faded away into private life. The main exception is McCain. He wisely held onto his Senate seat. Didn’t give up his day job. LOL

Hillary may win and be the most powerful political figure in the world. Or she may lose and join Al Gore on the lecture tour.

Do their part to help house refugees?

faded away into private life:
HW Bush
GW Bush
Romney
Reagan

Did not fade away, stayed active in their area of passion:
Clinton (Bill)
Gore
Carter
Kerry
Hmm. is there a trend here?

You’re all missing the lede.

Clinton is going to win.

Trump is going to lose.

Why don’t you talk about *his *post-election tantrum, Acey?
