Nope. I intend to be a slug for most of it.

**Nava **-- best wishes for your grandmother!
**SnowBunny **-- hope the battery is salvageable.
**Kopek **-- how about a Jewish version of that blessing?
**Nava **-- we got very little sun here today as well. It’s raining cats and dogs at the moment. And we really need it.
That’s about all I’ve retained… Later, y’all!

HAPPY HANUKKAH!!!
It does start today right?
Home from work. Dindin shall be steak, Those Friggin’ Good N.O.T. and sallit mostly because da bear wants steak.
I’m goin’ to see mom after work tomorrow. Sunday is her birthday. I already mentioned that didn’t I?
Later Y’all!
Yes, it starts (started, here in Israel) tonight – thanks
Perfect winter weather for lighting lights, too – windy and rainy
Here too! Not rainy, but really cold with crystal clear air.
Do love those flickering lights!
Happy Hannukah to all those who celebrate.
Hope you’re grandmother’s surgery went well, Nava. I think moving off campus sounds like the answer too. Is that even a possibility?
Gotta go get some holiday cards/possibly some presents. If any of you would like cards, PM me your info, by the way.
Then it’s home to make quiche and cookies. Woo hoo.
Back later…

There be idiots at the dentist office.
Last week Thursday I was scheduled to have a tooth extracted, but since I came down with that vile, nasty cold, I had to reschedule, which I did for yesterday. So I go in yesterday at the appointed time – and they can’t find an appointment for me. None. Not even a scribbled Post-It stuck to the inner ledge of the reception desk. Whomever I spoke to in order to reschedule the appointment not only didn’t write it down in the appointment book, she didn’t even enter it on the computer appointment thingy. Grrr.
So now I’m rescheduled for next Saturday. It turned out to be a little providential though. The infection I had isn’t completely gone; there’s a little bit left so I got the dentist to write me a scrip for more amoxycillin, and he mentioned that he’d rather he saw me once it was completely gone anyway, because evidently the freezing they do on your gums doesn’t take if there’s an infection, so if I did get in yesterday I may well have discovered that the anaesthetic that was supposed to numb my face wasn’t working as he was trying to yank a tooth out. Probably with me screaming as my only means of pointing this out short of punching him in the sack.
But he warned me that he didn’t want to prescribe me too much amoxycillin because I can build up a resistance to it. I can understand that, but do resistances really build up that quickly?
Anyway. So I’ve got a reprieve so I can still eat solid food – which I am going to enjoy with aplomb as I make some spaghetti and Awesome Sauce tonight.
Today was our office Christmas party. It was held at a casino. We ate, did the white elephant thing, then went our separate ways. I gambled a bit, but didn’t win a damn thing. Figures…
Happy Hannukah to those celebrate.
Saw an old friend today and caught up for a bit. It was good seeing him.
I’m still full from lunch, but I’m guessing that I’m going to have to prepare some kind of dinner for my husband and son. Daughter is at work.
Other than that, not much else going on.
I don’t know if you’ve studied all the details of my life, but I’m a potter for fun. Would you permit me to (attempt to) put your coffee prayer on some mugs? If I can make it work, I’d send you one!!
Happy Firday!! Glad the work week is over. **FCD **and I had our anniversary dinner with daughter. SIL was working, so he missed out. I had the shrimp, scallops, and calamari - the last was a bit disappointing, but I’m still stuffded.
Tomorrow, we’re driving up to DC to an aquarium store, just because. Then on Sunday, my sweetie leaves for a week in Norfolk, so it’ll just be me and the kids and the zoo.
Oh, and my new sewing machine came today. It looks to be really cool, and it weighs almost nothing!! Quite a contrast to my extrememly heavy, ancient Viking. I haven’t sewn anything yet, but I will.
That’s all for now. Kisses and gropes all around!!
Getting ready for something called Santarchy. It involves beer and I already own my own Santa suit. I am soooooooo with this and I have no idea what it is.
It was my coffee that needed blessing! Can I get a mug???
Sure - have at it!!! I just won’t tell my Bishop about them.
(He’s still trying to recover from seeing me on the news giving a benediction for the closing of an amusement park ride. It wouldn’t have been so bad but I was using a Roman Catholic prayer to do it.
)
I vote Soapy gets the first one!!!
(It is Soapy, right? I think I’m catching on slowly)
Currently watching The Incredible Hulk.
Considering the number of words, it’s gonna hafta be a BIG mug… OK, if I can make it work, you two are at the top of the list. Which is not to be confused with The List
It’s late. I’m tired. I think I’m done posting for the day. Nighty-night!
MWAH!
It’s RUNNING!!!
Now I’m going to let it warm up a bit and then go out and drive it and pray that it starts again once I stop at the store. MY CAR IS WORKING!!!
WOOHOO!!! I’m on a list!!! OK - I still feel bad about being left off Nixon’s enemies list but at least its a list!!!
(OK – I admit it. I’ve been practicing for the Santarchy. At least the alcohol part. I think I’ll shut down too and practice more intently
)
Woo hoo! Firstly, Happy Hannukah!
I got good news on both ultrasounds-thyroid and girly bits-they’re both okay, so yay for that. And good wishes and healing wishes being sent out to others, especially those who have yet to undergo one or the other of these types of procedures.
I am -so- glad that the weekend is here! I’ve gotta get out tomorrow morning and do a bit of ahem shopping, but other than that I’ll be inside—it’s way too cold to be out for long! So I’m going to be doing some cooking too. I’m going to try to make some dal in my crock pot … and I might just make some tandoori chicken too. I’ve got a hankerin’ for some Indian food, I guess.
Hope everyone has a warm and enjoyable weekend!
If I do, I still have to pay for the on-campus room. I’m thinking of asking the ladies at Services what do I need to do to ensure that future students get complete information, though. “Do not support” does not equal “is forbidden,” no matter what dialect of English you speak.
Grandma wants to know why everybody is making such a fuss over a mole; SiL wants to know if it was “spiky” (well, that wasn’t the technical term, but the Spanish technical term means spiky), apparently the fact that it wasn’t is good news. Mom explained it’s for the same reason they make a fuss over Grandpa’s ass every 2-3 months. Grandma: “oh, because the pieces they took out keep growing back?” Something like that, yeah… “But they’d never taken out a little piece of my face before!” Yeah well, hopefully this will be the last one, ok? This is a woman who’s still trying to figure out what did her other daughter and son-in-law eat to get cancer. It’s kind of scary, Mom’s the only relative on that side who does not have it. Well, and me and the bros and the nephews. I think this family has just reached a point where our bodies try to give up and we insist on not letting them. Expiration date way past, too stubborn to die.
ruble, be nice to your Bishop: no rosaries for Christmas!
Speaking of holidays,
Happy HANNUKAH
Neat-o on the vacation front, Rebo.
rosie’s sig to the rest.
Happy Hannukah!
Survived work, more in the morning. It’s 27 degrees Amurikin out(-2.7 for you Furriners)
Congrats to snowbunny!
Ruble, I too wish to participate in Santarchy.
Mork, I’m immune to local anesthetic, be glad the dentist caught it.
