Evening, everybody. Yet another busy work day under the belt.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LI-LI!!!
Let’s see, charitable contributions…over the years I’ve given to the MS society, the cancer society, various local folks in need, the women’s shelter, and various offices I’ve worked in adopted families in need for Christmas. When we did that, we’d buy stuff they needed, along with food, and give it to them.
One of my daughter’s professors is really impressed with her writing abilities. He keeps giving her very high praise on her essays. Today, she was asked to stand up in front of her class and read her latest essay. The professor told my daughter that her writing was pure poetry. To me, that’s high praise coming from a professor and directed at a college freshman.
Sorry, had to brag a little…she really is an excellent writer.
mmouse, great haircut! I know what you mean about your head feeling extremely light. I’ve whacked great amounts of hair at various times in my life. The biggest shock was when I went from hair that I could sit on to just above shoulder length. Nobody recognized me.
Well, I suppose I should check out the rest of the Dope. Yays, hugs, boos, and smooches to all.
Wow – you’ve really been places! I’m impressed – both with your traveling, and what you did while traveling
Also (to return to last week) – I wasn’t far off guessing your age
And good luck with the student loans!
Congratulations, Snowbunny!! Independence is a great feeling.
That’s great! I’ve been known to brag about the kids myself – it’s such an ego boost 'Course, you started a bit earlier than I did – eldest isn’t quite 16, here (H.S. Junior.)
**Pie **-- hope you feel better today.
As a (long since, but…) transplanted Bostonian, I’m psyched that the Red Sox have made the Pennant series this year, again
I know there’s an urban legend which claims men don’t pee.
I know this legend is not true (any gamer who’s been in a several-hour raid with folk of both genders can testify that men do, indeed, need to pee).
I already knew that a certain guy at the office wasn’t the brightest lightbulb in Scotland (he’s not in my team, phew).
But how dumb do you have to be, for your favourite “stand up and gab on the cell” spot to be right in front of the ladies’ room and blocking the door! He almost got ran over as myself an another woman barreled into the office and straight ahead…
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ but still a little sleepified here. I swear the move toward Fall and cooler weather really does make me want to hibernate.
Taters yay for daughter! That is super.
Everybody else yays, boos, hugs, trouts, as needed.
Wow, so this is “morning” for you all, huh? It’s going on 2:00 am here, and I wanted to be in bed hours ago, but no, my daughter’s min pin managed to get up on my bed again and peed on it. The last of the bedding is in the dryer (drier?), and then the bed must be remade, blech.
Farmer Bob puhleeze let Mr. Toad stay in your sandpile!
I’m about brain dead for the night, so ta for now. A good Tuesday for everyone!
I haven’t evicted him yet, but the day is still young. I need to add some street cred to my bad boy reputation.
Since it’s October, the hand sticking out of the trunk has reappeared on my car. I heard through the grapevine last night that one of the more humor-impaired juniors at the Rescue Squad has taken exception to it, too. My buddie Tollie stood up for me.
I’ve had vertigo for the last couple of days. The kind of vertigo that makes me think something terrible is going to happen to me or someone I know. Hate this. Need more sleep. Going to disconnect WOWCrack’s speakers next time he decides to raid at 2 a.m.
Today I shall take the city bus to campus. We’ll see how that goes.
Just been to a boring team meeting, went down the hill to get some fruit and just about got blown back up this way again. I think autumn has finally arrived.
I’m bored already. I love surfin’ the net and the Dope and all, but it gets old after a while. I suppose I could dust my cubicle. Blech. I hope they find something for me to do, other than training my new neighbor. Gah! He is soooo straight out of school and cocky - and he argues with me! (Just a little.) Mostly he’s ok and listens, and takes notes, and asks tons of questions. <sigh>
I read the thread and promptly forgot it all. Yays, boos and hugs!
Oh yeah - dinner last night was chicken parmesan, crispy zucchini rounds, and creamy mushroom pasta. Teh yum! And I have some leftover for breakfast…
Hope you get a nap, Spaz.
Nat woke up at 5:20, which is way too early. Thankfully he went back to sleep at seven, for two hours. So did I. What was I supposed to do today, again? Cooking? Going in to tell my manager I quit? Some other stuff I don’t remember?
