A Creative MMP ...plus... It's Summer! A Garden Party MMP

Just popping in to say I’m back on line, on an ancient Gateway running Windows ME! My Dell is probably dead, but since I have this one to play with, I’ll wait till my local computer guy gets back in town next month. I’ll get caught up eventually. Just wanted you all to know that I’m alive and more or less functional.

MWAH!!!

Ed the Tile Guy has been and gone. He will give us an estimate for retiling the whole porch (it needs it-dammit), but he did some “quick and dirty” stuff to get us through until next spring. Yay! And all for $25. Have I told you all how much I like Ed the Tile Guy? He’s got a long ponytail and a farout expression, but he does excellent work and cheap. He did my kitchen backsplash and undercharged us (we gave him–I’m not making this up–a $200 tip. No idea how he stays in business, since he consistently undercharges for his labor.)

Off to shower and wash my hair. My face is a tad bit better, but I still scare small children. Ugh.
Daughter is back and in a much better mood (running 10 miles will do that for you, I suppose).

I know it’s a whole page ago, but Yay, official invite to swampy’s house!

I’m still just hanging out in my room nursing my tooth, maybe chips and salsa wasn’t a very good meal. ::pops more forbidden ibuprofen::

Also, someone in this house (I think it’s one of our 2 eternal visitors who sleep on the couch/floor but don’t pay rent) has the same phone as me and keeps getting text messages - and has his phone set on the same noise as mine! Ugh!

I’ll probably not be online for the rest of the night, not after hanging out with Slightly Creepy Stalky Boy.

Waitaminute! swampy, you did not kick my butt in the Feud thread, you beat me by one place. (Hmm, swampy was right on top of me! I think I need a shower.)

You do know of course that you must enlighten us about SCSB don’t you?

A shower would be the least of your needs young man.

I had a grilled ham and cheese sammich and some tomatoes and cukes for supper. I deem that to be healthy. Thus, I can have ice cream later.

Dinner shall be chicken soup with square noodles and fresh peas, served with a bulgur and wax bean salad on the side. The fresh peas, of course, are all Mindy’s fault. glares

Once that’s done, I’ll:

  • pack a bag for the weekend
  • ignore Mt Clothing some more
  • tidy up the kitchen
  • water the 'mater plants
  • give the cats a good de-shedding
  • go to bed early (even though Mt Clothing will be glaring balefully at me)

FCM, way to rock the old school OS. Hope your computer woes are resolved soon.

I’ve read everything and retained almost nothing. I’m having that kind of day. (Almost forgot to get off the bus this morning. )

Going out to get candy for work (we’ve been out for days). Also need to put out the trash (8 little rolls of carpet about to be gone! Yay!).

Back after a bit with actual content.

In the meantime: hugs!

GT

it’s hot and humid and I’m achy and hurting and cranky and I have no alcohol in the house! :frowning:

That’s not a rule, is it? :dubious:

It would seriously cramp my style if I had to post actual content.

:waving to gt:

maybe it is con`tent (as in happiness)?

My sister had an email exchange with a colleague in which he wrote something to her that she replied “I resent your email”.

He furiously apologized and tried to understand how he offended her.

She meant- “send again”.

Glad you’re still able to be with us, FCM! :stuck_out_tongue:

In other news, woo and hoo, the week is half over. My mood seems a bit better today also, although I couldn’t say why exactly. Oh boy, did the heavens open up here this evening! It’s been raining continuously for a couple of hours, and now the water is nearly lapping at my patio doors! At least the temp has dropped and while it’s still a bit muggy, it’s not nearly as muggy as earlier. Whew!

Oooh. Hmm. Well, maybe I can handle that once in a while. It can’t be all the time, though. It is the MMP, after all. :stuck_out_tongue:

Great story about “resent”. I use re-sent myself just to avoid the confusion, but I can see how that problem could easily arise.

How’s the office cleaning going? You missed out on some action earlier. But I can’t tell. Room 304 has a ‘no tell’ policy. Maybe you’ll join us to find out next time.

I have filled two 55-gallon garbage cans! And gave away dozens of surplus textbooks and professional magazines to hungry students.

Now if I could just uncover my desk…

Yeah- I saw the action… I am trying to be good!!!

I just realized that I had posts 200 and 250 and set up first posts two pages in a row!

Aw crap. Huge flash of lightning outside and big red radar over G-ville on the weather map.

I have to drive home in thirty minutes.

Finally back home again from the shop.

I’ve got paperwork to do and I’m exhausted, yet here I am. Go figure. :dubious:

::waves to Pie and Roo::

CONtent? ConTENT? It’s all good. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve acquired candy for work and cheese and Cheerios for home AND I went for a bit of a walk because it was so pleasant out.

Can you stay where you are a bit longer, Spaz?

Glad you got to sleep a bit longer LiLi. And yeah, once they get mobile they don’t stop again for years.

Glad you could at least stop by, FCM. Hope your computer feels better soon.

I know I had more, but I’m falling asleep. I think I’ll indulge in an early bedtime tonight.

More in the morning…

MT–did you have Zone Alarm on the Dell? M$ latest ‘fix’ broke things with zone alarm.
Gee, thanks guys!

No. Library closes in five minutes. Fortunately it looks like we’re in the pause between Big Red Spots.
Never mind, wrong link.

Still voting against her though.

Her being Dole.

Hate her.

Okay, I’m all productive and shit–my partner is absolutely amazed because he’s been putting off doing his quarterly taxes for his old business (the one that takes care of miscellaneous car repair work and installs of our system) until he had a big old 25% late fee and usually doing taxes is a huge headache for him which is why he puts it off. So I had him run me through Q1 and the online filing site WA has (which was dead easy, BTW) and got that outta the way, then I went ahead and did Q2 taxes and set up the site to withdraw from the tax account on August first, and since it’s filed so promptly they gave him a credit, which helped to offset the overdue fine on Q1. He had his mind blown that it’s not actually terribly difficult for many of us who are verbal/written processors with office and minor accounting experience…

Then, just to REALLY freak him out I finished setting up the QuickBooks account for the manufacturing side of the company, downloaded all the bank info AND reconciled the check register–to the penny. He tells me the repair company account has actually NEVER been reconciled, eek! Maybe some day if I have nothing better to do and feel masochistic I might tackle that…

Roller skates, LiLi, it’s the only way you’ll keep up with him! Here’s hoping once he gets mobile he’ll learn how to tire himself out enough to sleep.

Color me confused on the rented cake concept as well, I mean really–WTF? Weddings are retardedly expensive, it’s a wonder anyone bothers… My son and his fiance are doing most of their own work on invitations (I did the Word setup and matched the ink colors to the paper they want to use,) her mom is paying for her dress, they’re getting a great deal on the venue since she used to bartend there but it’s still going to cost ‘em… 9K for a destination wedding? Ha ha–not even if the destination is frikkin’ Rochester NY is that gonna work.

Is hot today–bleah. No A/C or fans at work either–I’m hoping I lose some weight since I’m not eating much and sweating like I live in a sauna!

After a short hiatus, my dizziness is back. And I have that pain in my side, I hope it’s not diodes. No bigwigs today. Rental cake? I think I’d prefer to just live in sin.

Welocme to The Vorlon! “Knowledge is a three edged sword.”

Are you OK, Spaz?

Did you pass, Pie?

LiLi, don’t worry. I mean, I stopped giving my parents gray hair and ulcers around age 23.

Hugs, drugs, and fish paste to everyone!
