We are mere days away from having a brand new 4 month old Lab mix in our house. We are getting the dog from our county animal control. We have visited it numerous times to check on temperament, etc and it seems like a dandy dog.
I was curious about what we should do vet wise once we get it? How soon for shots, spaying, general check-up?
Also, what kind of toys, items, and stuff should we buy? We have a perfect crate and stuff like a leash, food, dish, bowl, etc are pretty obvious. What might be something that we would overlook? Thanks. You rock, and I don’t mean that in a flirty, send me a picture of you in a bikini sort of way.
Just keep the woofer away from that no doubt soon-to-be-malfuntioning electric garage door, OK
I figure at some point I’ll have to clean puupy stain off of the garage floor, I just didn’t expect it to be the actual puppy.
Okay, gang, he’s got the house…he’s got the dog…he’s got the membership in the local Kiwanis…shall we start laying bets on how soon we’ll be hearing the pitter-patter of little Mullinator feet?
Mully, I’d say the best thing to do would be to take the pup to your vet almost as soon as you get it home. There are some shots that the pup should have before he/she is six months old, IIRC, and getting a “baseline” with the vet and a schedule for necessary shots and boosters would be a good idea.
Little Mully feet? Not for a couple of years my friend. Consider the dog a trial run of our abilities to keep something alive and keep it from dying it’s hair purple and blaming us for any sort of complex.
