Bindrah, just for perspective, there have been negative references by some posters on here (some of whom happen to be gay, some of whom were not) to “muscle marys”, “twinks”, etc. People were offended by the use there as well. IIRC gobear and jayjay have taken heat in the past (here and in livejournal, IIRC, the latter of which necessarily being off-limits as it was only brought up anecdotally) for doing so.
It’s not necessarily a groupthink mentality if many people happen to think the same thing. And if you were to go to, for example, GD or IMHO and open up a thread there to that effect, you might be surprised at the many and varied reasons people are offended by whatever. Or, in turn, are not offended by whatever.
