A Few Doper Personalities, As Perceived By Me

I thought about this before posting, and I know already that I may forget to mention someone, but I hope that y’all will take this thread in the spirit with which it is intended and not hold it against me. In fact, I invite you to add your own views of your “special” dopers as well…

QadgopTheMercotan: He has the distinction of being one of the first Dopers whose posts I read and have followed since I joined. He is not a “waster” of words, and he says exactly what he means. I would very much like to work alongside him in my ER.

Salem: A writer. A very creative and humorous writer! She can take something embarrasing in real life, and say/ think: 'Hey, it wasn’t really funny at the time, but if I write it down, I can make people relate to it, and make 'em smile!"

TheLoadedDog: One of my Aussie buddies who has the unique ability to somehow “see” through the web and discern sincerety.

IceWolf: My New Zealand friend who exudes such warmth and class it makes me want to travel to NZ and have her show me her country!

Zenster: Very opinionated. Very talented. Often misunderstood, but then the great ones often are, right? I thank him for my “Onkel Willi” recipe, and I thank him for what he contributes here.

Blonde: Another lady who says what she means. Very sports-oriented and, in my opinion, doesn’t miss a trick. I’d hate to have her as an enemy, so I will always keep some Krispy Kremes on hand in case she decides to visit!

DantheMan: A true gentleman of SDMB. I have seen him respond in some very controversial (if not downright ugly) posts and he always manages to bring things back to a cordial level.

Lieu: What can I say about this wonderful humorous man that hasn’t been said a thousand times before! I look forward to his writings to the point where I have his name saved in the “search” function because he never fails to bring a smile to my face.

To be continued…

Q

Quasimodem: Has problems working the boards AND his car.

How many threads are you gonna start in this?

GMR: Could you find it in your heart to just Eff the Hell up??

:D:D:D:D

Love ya’ Dood!

Q

Sorry for the multiples, y’all. Really. I lost what I wrote originally and it meant a lot to me to say those things, because the people here mean so much to me, especially the ones I met just recently.

Sometimes I write very long posts, and they get lost in the ether when the 'puter says “Server cannot be found”.

Guess I need to “save” my longer stuff, huh? I’ll try to remember to do that.

Thanks

Q

Quasimodem: he who considers that I have class, has class of his own that shines out brightly from his posts. He writes as one would who believes in the baseline worth of people, and offers everyone an ear. Within his nick of ten letters is a new, true meaning for the term “gentleman”. Every so often, his sense of humour shines brightly, a wonderously cool and welcome sight on these boards.

Thank you, Quasi, for being my friend too.

Why don’t I get any Quasi-lovin’?

Quasimodem - our fearless leader into Great Debates. You didn’t give yourself enough credit for being competent enough to debate the best/worst of them! Love talking with you on the SDMB, and you seem like a very outgoing person who’s probably surrounded by many friends.
I miss Zenster - is he on vacation, does anyone know?

I’ll mention Q.E.D. - he’s got one scary IQ, but yet comes off as a really nice guy, IMHO. And, Krisfer the Cat, who’s just as nice as they come.

Wow. What a kind thing to say. I am humbled by your words. Thank you.

What Wolfie said.

Quasi, I paused a moment trying to think how I should describe you here. There’s nothing witty or meaningful to be said that couldn’t be summed up all the better by resorting to a simple Australianism: you’re a bloody top bloke.

Thanks, mate. Not only for your very kind words in the OP, but for being a damn fine doper and friend.

I think he’s involved with Burning Man, hon.

Thanks for what you wrote, but this whole thread isn’t about me! It’s about Y’all and how much I look forward to spending internet “time” with you!

Yeah, some of those IQ’s are a bit intimidating aren’t they? But bless 'em for being here because they allow me to see all sides of an issue.

So this is me being sentimental, huh? I think I better go crawl up a church tower and ring a bell or two before this gets much worse!

Q

Big ol QUASI-HUGG comin’ your way!

Q

It’s very true! ~smiles~
~grumbles~ I never get mentioned in these love-fests.

~wanders back to Davebear’s, where everybody knows her name~

stampedes through thread

roars back through firing off roman candles

stomps through playing one-man band, including timpani

skedaddles back through blaring on a trombone

I think Matt deserves some credit. I’m following the tale of his ass and armpit abscesses in GQ pretty closely.

Hi Jaade! who is a very good listener and caring. See, you’re noticed and appreciated!

Quasi, I’m very honored to be on your list. You are a good friend and one of the kindest souls I’ve ever [sub]not[/sub] met. And you are such a wicked [sub]good[/sub] flirt, too. And all of this wrapped up in a great package.[sub]Did I just say something about your package? I’m not sure that came out quite right…[/sub] No wonder you’re never single for long!

And I will say thank you to Waddamaroon who I haven’t seen around for awhile, but who went out of his way to help me understand some things (hope all is well with you if you’re out there!) and to The Stranger and several others (including Jaade) who enabled me to see some light at the end of a long, dark tunnel. As it turns out, it was in fact an oncoming train, but that’s not their fault. They were all willing to share their stories, however difficult, to help.

And all of the wonderful Boston Dopers along with Wyatt, the naughty, pony-tailed puppy man, who are all funny, caring, witty and good folks.

So, Quasi, should I have copied and pasted that to the other 20 threads with the same title?

[sub]I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist! Please don’t hurt me. At least not a lot. [/sub]

To hell with the lot of you.

GMRyujin: Oi! Those aren’t mine, they’re scott evil.

How hard is it to keep the two tee-totaling queer femme metrophile Doperealers apart, anyway?

(I’m the New Democrat; he’s the one who can organize Dopefests.)

Sorry, matt. Canadians all look alike to me. Like hippies.
